Wisconsin Republicans to Voters; "We're tired of seeing that MOB and the PROTESTERS everywhere."

Liberal mobs?

The way I see it, Republicans have always hated getting out of their easy chairs to protest. That's why they hated the 60's war protests so much. In fact, it got so bad in 2011 that the Koch brothers Americans for Prosperity used buses to transport whoever they could find from around the state to
protest in Madison (there weren't many), where a thuggish "mob" of liberal teachers, firefighters, law enforcement, students, families, and children turned out by the millions to protest Scott Walker's union-busting Act 10.

Liberal protests weren't always considered "mobs." Republicans struggled at first to make the First Amendments "right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" an unthinkable and grotesque assault on American values.

Scott Walker himself tried denying that he’d compared Wisconsin protesters to ISIS.

“You all will misconstrue things the way you see fit. But I think it’s pretty clear, that’s the closest thing I have in terms of handling a difficult situation, not that there’s any parallel between the two.”
Walker: “If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world."
Walker's image of being "unintimidated" was just exposed as BS by a former Walker secretary speaking out against his reelection. Peter Bildsten, Former secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions:
When Walker titled his 2013 book Unintimidated and bragged about how he “stood up to union thugs and protesters,” I thought back to how he had regularly ducked in and out of the capitol via a tunnel, always escorted by a heavy security detail. Unintimidated is not exactly the word that comes to mind, but Republicans in Washington accepted Walker’s self-image and talked him up as a strong presidential contender.
Trump's Reality Show "Mob" Mentality: Trump took the simple act of protesting and made it seem un-American.

Trump's Kavanaugh gave us today's liberal "mobs:" Watch former legislator and now soulmate of Assembly Speaker Rep. Robin Vos, Michelle Litjens, ever so casually talk about liberal mods like it's some kind of generally accepted fact. From Upfront with Mike Gousha:
MICHELLE: "The other thing is the Kavanaugh effect. I think it comes down to that MOB MENTALITY that we went through in 2011-2012. We had people come out and vote for Scott Walker during that recall who did not support what he did in Act 10, but they we're tired of  seeing that MOB AND THE PROTESTERS everywhere. We are hearing that candidates are hearing it at the doors and hearing it at the polls as well, that people are tired of that MOB mentality, and they feel that the Kavanaugh family was treated poorly. They don't want to see that anymore. They want that to be done. They want people to get along. And I think the Democrats are going to be punished for that."

MIKE: "I will give John a chance, because I'm sure the mob thing for you, knowing what you have written in the past, it probably does not sit well with you...''

JOHN: "I do not think my mom, her other friends from Burlington who came up to defend public education with nurse and teachers, were a mob. There are things to say about the tea party folks too. And you know, this notion of trying to make the other side into somet sort of an evil force..."

Mobs are Enemies in "life and death battle for the future." Awhile back Republicans were talking like James Buchal, a Portland-area GOP Chairman, who really did want to hire militia groups as political security. Imagine how much worse things are now with roving liberal "mobs" endangering the survival of our country. It's impossible for me to wrap my mind around people who think like this:
The top Republican in the city said he is considering using militia groups as security for public events. James Buchal said: “Yeah. We’re thinking about that. Because there are now belligerent, unstable people who are convinced that Republicans are like Nazis.”

He says of the President, “His enemies are my enemies and his enemies are all our enemies. Our enemies are more dangerous than ever. We are really in a life and death battle for the future of our society. And these globalist people are not going to give up. If we don’t tell out fellow citizens that there are these dark forces in the government, like the CIA and the shadow government, who are trying to take Trump down with lies, who is going to tell them?”

Republican alternative to the UW's class "The Men's Project!"

Rep. Robin Vos' main squeeze Michelle Litjens said something amazing this morning on WPR's Joy Cardin Show, about "The Men’s Project, a six-week voluntary discussion program that “aims to explore masculinity and the problems accompanied by simplified definitions of it,” according to a UW Health Service news release.
Litjens: "I think our students need to be offered both sides...they're offering a class about how not to be strong men anymore...but they also should be offering a class on, "If You Want to be a Strong Man, Here's How to Do It." You know we need to be offering both sides to our students..."
Priceless and fair.

Wisconsin Idea still stumps Republicans hell bent on killing UW.

This morning former Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager laid out the difference between universities and tech schools. For instance, tech school train you for one job. But as we've seen over the years, occupations come and go, whether through technology or trade policies that offshore jobs. Scott Walker and his plundering Republican pirates in the legislature either don't care or don't know about the long range problem some Americans will face when their profession disappears.

In March the Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report that took a look at how many jobs younger baby boomers held between ages 18 to 48. They averaged 11.7 jobs. Although the term "jobs" doesn't necessarily mean a career change, common sense and life experience shows that that's a likely possibility.

Former republican Representative Michelle Litjens' disdain for what she perceives as "liberal indoctrination" is typical of conservatives who really don't get the Wisconsin Idea at all. Thus Walker's cavalier attempt to change it:
Litjens: "The UW Oshkosh for instance, as a freshmen, you take 4 different classes on recycling, and um sensitivity and religion and women's studies. And you know, as a parent who is going to be contributing towards education, are these classes that we want to either borrow money or pay for that are going help my child get a job in the future? There are stories like that uh that you hear as parents or you know of because your children are in the system, and you wonder if you're getting the best bang for your buck as a parent."
Here's Peg's great response on WPR's Joy Cardin Show (audio):

Rep. Michelle Litjens No Friend of Women's Pay, Thinks Disparity is a Myth.

Michelle Litjens is leaving politics, but not before she marks her territory by trashing women’s rights in the workplace. Move aside Sen. Glenn Grothman, Litjens just took the War on Women crown, turning in one of the most repugnant interviews I've seen to date. Her joyful smile over this serious topic is unsettling and shocking.

For Litjens, pay inequality is just a myth.

In a tactically rehearsed opening statement, a ploy I’ve seen parroted by other Republicans nationally, Litjens repeats the language used by equal pay supporters. It comes across oddly out of place and wrong, not to mention an extreme example of projection:
Litjens: “You know this is 2012, kinda thought we were past this. I thought women were treated equally as men, and I’m really surprised that we’re actually discussing this now. (nose scrunch) I think the left is really reaching for anything they can grab onto, so they can guarantee themselves a win in the fall…We should be celebrating as women. Is that women actually earning more, single childless women earn more money than single childless men. That’s something to celebrate.”
Litjens wants to celebrate? But she was deceptively twisting bad news into "good news." Here the real story:
Also troubling are comparisons showing that women with children are paid less than women without children, but that men with children are paid more than men without children.
It takes a really sick mind to make something so bad look like an event to celebrate. Democratic Rep. Sandy Pasch corrects every horrific lie Litjens conjures up, with facts. Upfront with Mike Gousha:

The perky Litjens acts like wage discrimination is just made up. So why was the Supreme Court dealing with the following:
Corning Glass Works v. Brennan (1974), U.S. Supreme Court: Ruled that employers cannot justify paying women lower wages because that is what they traditionally received under the "going market rate." A wage differential occurring "simply because men would not work at the low rates paid women" was unacceptable.
See, employers were actually justifying lower wages for women, which in turn, must mean wage discrimination is…real! Here are a few quick facts:
We don't expect the wage gap to close until 40-plus years. On a national level by occupation the findings show that median earnings for women are lower than men's in nearly all occupations.

Between 1950 and 1960, women with full time jobs earned on average between 59–64 cents for every dollar their male counterparts earned in the same job. In 2008 they earned 77% of men's wages … In 2005, women under 25 working full-time earned 93.2% of men's salaries compared to those 25 and older, who earned 79.4% of what men made. In 2009, President Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act. This Act is named after a former employee of Goodyear who alleged that she was paid 15-40 percent less than her male counterparts, which was later found to be accurate. Women currently make approximately 80 cents for every dollar that men earn.
