7 yrs later, Scott Walker can't stop talking about and still blames Gov. Doyle for Republican Great Recession that produced Job Losses and State Deficit.

Scott Walker recently said Wisconsin's economy is "on fire," so that's why he's still falsely blaming former Gov. Jim Doyle for job losses and high deficit resulting from the failed Republican free-market experiment that gave us the Great Recession?

Without that false comparison, Walker would have nothing, basically no villain to blame to make his numbers look good. Walker could thank the economy in general but instead will take credit for Obama's "slow" recovery.

From Upfront with Mike Gousha, far to the right Scott Walker said:

Walker: "To me, they're all the same, they're all far to the left, they'll all take us back as we said before, to the kind of policies we saw, that lost us 133,000 jobs in the four years before we took office..."

And again, if you were still not sure... "we don't want to go back to those days"...you know, when we had the Great Recession:

There's something sick about conservative judicial activism. They are the ultimate bully, free from criticism. The Supreme Court's activist conservatives Justices don't seem to buy the Affordable Care Act's interpretation that despite providing tax credits to both the state and federal exchanges equally, congress never intended to roll it out that way. Really, that defies logic.

So what's Antonin Scalia thinking?

U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli told the court the Obama administration’s reading of the law was the only one that made sense. Allowing subsidies nationwide is compelled by the structure and design of the health law, he said, adding that Mr. Carvin’s interpretation couldn’t be what Congress intended.

Justice Antonin Scalia jumped in and said, “Of course it could be.” What mattered, Justice Scalia said, is how Congress actually wrote the law.

The court is supposed to look at the intent, and the way it was implemented. But that would be too easy.

The irony of the court challenge to me is this; the plaintiff is arguing against having any insurance at all. Because he doesn't want it, millions who want coverage will lose theirs. That's the kind of society we have today, and it's only going to get much worse.

Frustrating too is watching the valiant effort by Sen. Kathleen Vinehout to bring back the nearly completed work of the Doyle administrations state exchange.

WSJ: A bill released by state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, and Rep. Melissa Sargent, D-Madison, would set up the Badger Health Benefit Authority to run an exchange with insurance options for individuals and employers with up to 100 workers.

The bill draws on work by former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle to set up a state exchange, Vinehout said. Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, opted instead for the federal exchange.

“Let’s make sure the people of our state are not devastated by partisan politics,” Sargent said.

Walker takes credit for Doyle Job Creation and doesn't mention Obama Stimulus Funding.

Forbes Magazines Rick Unger couldn't help chiming in on "Plagiarismado" blowing through Wisconsin. Whatever you call the following, Scott Walker got caught being the big hypocrite that he's always been for the last 3 and half years as governor. A while back he took credit for jobs created under former Gov. Jim Doyle.

Just amazing really. It would be a big story if it weren't for the fact that he's another Teflon Republican:

Plagiarism is defined as the “wrongful appropriation,” “close imitation,” or “purloining and publication” of another author’s ”language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions,” and the representation of them as one’s own original work.

With that in mind, welcome to this week’s episode in the stirring adventures of Scott Walker – the ‘truth challenged’ Governor of Wisconsin.

Today’s chapter involves the Curt Manufacturing Company, a large manufacturer of trailer hitches located near Eau Claire, Wisconsin where the Governor traveled last week – with news cameras and writers in tow – to make a big fuss about providing the funding that will create 125 new jobs at the company. In a news release, Walker said –

"This project directly creates 125 new jobs and indirectly creates 129 jobs, resulting in $12.6million in annual wages right here in Wisconsin. By providing these funds, we are bringing quality jobs to Wisconsin while improving road access to Curt Manufacturing’s expanded facility." Via Wisconsin Journal Sentinel

Way to go Governor! And by ‘Governor’, I am, of course, referring to Governor Jim Doyle, Walker’s Democratic predecessor who is the one actually responsible for arranging the funding that created the 125 jobs.

In a December, 2010 press release (prior to Walker taking office) the Wisconsin Department of Commerce in the Doyle Administration announced that they were awarding Curt Manufacturing the $400,000 in tax credits and $11 million in tax-free bonds that would create the 125 new jobs.

It gets better. Where do you imagine this funding came from? A transportation grant created in the dreaded Obama stimulus program-the very legislation Governor Walker never misses an opportunity to trash.

Here comes the bigger lie:

So confusing was the dog and pony show Walker created to take credit for someone else’s work, the media actually found themselves confused. Commerce Secretary Paul Jardin stepped into the breach (and said), “Generally, the press releases or press conferences are tied around when the company wants to do something. Obviously, they want to do it with a governor present. That’s probably what occurred here.”

Yes, that is probably what happened here. Or not – or at least not according to the president of Curt Manufacturing, Curt Tamborino. “Walker’s office had called and said they wanted to do this final presentation with a press release in front of the media.”

So, is it plagiarism when a governor takes direct credit for the work done by a previous administration – or just plain, old-fashion lying? I suppose it doesn’t matter.  A lie is a lie is a lie. What does matter is that Walker, and his clearly hapless administration, can’t seem to work out how to pull off a political lie without constantly getting caught red-handed.

Since we know former Gov. Doyle did not cause the Great Recession, it seem almost ridiculous to hear the head of the state Republican Party continue to blame him for it. Is WISGOP's Joe Fadness stupid? But do keep it fresh in our minds, Joe, how Republican free market policies caused the the Great Recession, wiping out jobs and businesses in Wisconsin.

Does this also mean Republicans will give up saying, "Oh sure, blame Bush," or will they successfully have it both ways from an uncritical media? 

Cheap shot artist, and not too smart: Fadness is shocked Doyle donated money to Mary Burke’s campaign. He thought money went only to Republicans? Maybe the legislature can "reform" that too.

Before the Republicans took over in D.C., we were looking at “surpluses as far as the eye could see,” remember? Heck, read Fadness’ reminder of how bad things got under GOP control:  

jsonline: Joe Fadness, executive director of the state Republican Party, was quick to criticize the donation. "Mary Burke and Jim Doyle set Wisconsin into a downward spiral, and it's no surprise that this same team is funding and advising Burke's campaign to take Wisconsin backward," Fadness said. 

Fadness should also check the calender. In fact, Burke wasn't really there to for the plunge (Feb 2005 to Nov. 2007. And yet, after all is said and done, Doyle’s job creation numbers were on the upswing.

Burke's campaign would be wise to thank Fadness for keeping the Great Recession front and center.
