Walker thinks adding back $1.4 billion in lost state revenue would "take out a lot of growth and prosperity!!!

Scott Walker passed a manufacturing/Ag tax credit that zeroed out state taxes for entitled companies and businesses that passed the burden of educating their future employees to taxpaying families.

Since when did that make any sense, and why did conservative voters go along with getting stuck with the bill through local school referendums?

Even worse, it's upside down thinking like Walker's that supposedly created this quid pro quo to special interest corporate campaign contributors with no job creation requirement.

WPR: Walker told members of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce at a luncheon in Madison, "About 88 percent of all the recipients ... are small businesses. Businesses that make less than $1 million a year. If we were to wipe that out, we would be taking out a lot of the growth and prosperity in the state."

Really, restoring this massive loss of tax revenue "would be taking out a lot of prosperity in the state?" That's how upside down Wisconsin politics has become under Walker's bent out shape priorities. Walker's political spin couldn't change the Legislative Fiscal Bureau numbers:

The Legislature's nonpartisan budget office projects the credit will have cost state government a total of $1.4 billion by the end of the current budget in June. It's projected to cost state government roughly $295 million this year alone.

And those "88 percent of all recipeints" that "are small businesses"?

The 88 percent figure cited by Walker reflects the total number of filers who took advantage of the tax credit according to a memo by the Legislative Fiscal Bureau. But that same memo showed that the wealthiest 12 percent of all recipients received roughly 73 percent of the payout, an amount that totaled $159 million in 2017.

From the Vicki McKenna show, via Sly's podcast, conservative and phony Milwaukee Democrat Sheriff David Clarke betrayed every Republican secret.

1. Clarke whined how Democrats dared to challenge activist Justice David Prosser's reelection to the supreme court and came within 2,000 votes of defeating him. Clarke's angry tirade revealed...

a. Prosser is a Republican lackey who had..."the machinery of the Walker campaign and Republican Party behind him." Gee, doesn't sound like a fair impartial guy to me?

b. Clarke complained the Republicans, yes, Republicans, "should have fielded a candidate...and kickstart all of their mechanisms like the Manufacturers group and whatnot..." Again, Prosser is a Republican legislator on the bench working for big business, and isn't the least bit impartial.

c. But here's the surprise...Clarke really isn't a Democrat, just deceptively runs as one: "...because we've got a 4 to 3 margin. When I say we, the conservatives on the supreme court." Thank you David.

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce now pushing to end recalls!!! That should tell you something.

Business hates democracy so much, it’s now unafraid to put its disdain for a government, by, for and of the people, in a press release.

In fact, Big Business is now going in for the kill, after the “unpleasant chapter” and “incivility.” They are pushing to put an end to the peoples right to recalls:

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce is pleased with the outcome to the recall election and we congratulate Governor Walker. Wisconsin must now turn the page on an unpleasant chapter in our state's history and begin to heal. The year-and-a-half long recall saga has created uncertainty, instability and - worst of all - incivility. The recalls divided families, co-workers and neighbors. They were also massively expensive, cost the state jobs and damaged Wisconsin’s reputation.





Second only to the jobs issue, Wisconsin must reform our recall law in order to prevent this kind of chaos in the future. Perpetual campaigning creates a toxic political environment that makes our state all but ungovernable. We need a return to normalcy where politicians are allowed to complete the term they were duly elected to serve."

WMC has decided to blame the victims of Walker's "divide and conquer" policies, that start the "unpleasant chapter."

For the last year Scott Walker has talked up how positive business is about improved climate in the state. Still, Wisconsin has added fewer jobs than almost every other state in the country. Really, after a year and a half, he’s only come up with a possible 30,000 jobs?

What’s not said is how that number could be more honestly attributed to the normal business cycle and the slowly improving recovery. If employers are positive, they can thank the Obama administration policies. Of course they won’t.

It’s no surprise than that the biggest Walker supporter and the voice of big business, Wisconsin Manufacturing and Commerce, would release another overly positive “feel good” survey of businesses that are promising jobs, jobs, jobs, just like a year ago. And we know how that turned out. This press release is so blatantly transparent, yet treated like it's actual news:

jsonline: Nearly two-thirds of employers, many of them manufacturing com­panies, plan to hire people in the next six months, a new survey from Wisconsin Manufacturers & Com­merce shows.

The 62% who said they plan to add employees is up from 53% a year ago … OEM Fabricators had a 75% sales increase in 2011 and expects similar growth this year. A year ago, it held a mock 'funer­al for the recession,' which public­ly proclaimed an end to hard times. 'Our customers are pushing us to take on more work, which is good. Everything in our portfolio has been strong.”

If what OEM is saying is true, than what they’re talking about is something Walker and the Republican legislature have never considered important; improving consumer demand. That's the real job creator.
