WPR: Private Contracting Rises 7.5 Percent In State Government: State Agencies Spend Nearly $500M On Private Contracting In Last Fiscal Year
The Department of Administration delivered a report to the Legislature's chief clerks and the Legislative Fiscal Bureau on Friday that found overall contracting increased from $565 million to $607 million. University of Wisconsin System contracting increased by 8.6 percent, from $114 million to $123 million. State agencies spent $483 million on contracting. The Department of Health Services spent the most of any agency, at $191 million.
The report recommends agencies continue to examine using state workers before contracting for information technology services and consider using a common contractor across agencies for similar tasks, which could result in significant cost savings.

Walker's taxpayer handouts to private contractors costs more than if we gave the work to state workers.
The Department of Administration recommended the state do its own work, which could save lots of money, and cut back on private more expensive contractors. But that doesn't mesh with Mr. "small government" Scott Walker. Actually, it's not about small government really, it's just a redistribution of taxpayer money to the open pockets of big business:

Unintended Consequences of Act 10 drains more Taxpayer money. Republicans mismanage government again.
I’m so tired of repeating; why do we put people in charge of
government who hate it and want to destroy it?
Conservative taxpayers and voters did this to themselves,
and they’re not paying attention. They’ll begin to notice well after the
midterm elections, when it’ll be too late. My conservative friend said that
that didn't even matter, because conservatives would never vote for a Democrat
anyway. Tammy Baldwin got their vote…Obama over Mr. 1 Percent?
Here’s what Republican voters are now on the hook for due to
another of the Walker Authority’s unintended consequences:
WSJ: Next year would be the fifth straight year of contribution rate increases. Lagging investment income was responsible for about half of this year’s increase.
The other half happened as an unexpected consequence of the 2011 law that ended collective bargaining and required employees to pay exactly 50 percent of required contributions. The law inadvertently increased benefit levels for future retirees, so total contribution had to rise to cover the future cost.

Conservative Radio's Cancer Stick Vicki McKenna defends unhinged Sheriff Clarke and Loves Spending Taxpayer money on His Propaganda
My god, has teabilly radio smoke breather Vicki McKenna got balls? After Scott Walker's attack on Milwaukee, wiping out local control now and in the past, she's whining about the county regulating (silencing) the lunatic rantings of Sheriff David Clarke by drawing up ethical and taxpayer spending guidelines.
How unfair? Saving taxpayer money in this case is "silencing" the lunacy of Sheriff David Clarke? He doesn't need to spend our money to embarrass himself or the job he's doing, he can do that verbally...free. In fact, he already has.
Here's the Milwaukee County Boards intended result after Clarke made his national media tour on all the conservative media outlets. His fear mongering public service announcement told constituents not bother with 911, and shoot first.
