Republicans talk Sedition while voters describe Trump as "strong," "straight forward," "savage," "he believes what he says is real" when he's wrong!!!

It's frightening to think the US could be ruled by the paranoid masses of disenfranchised voters in rural and suburban areas who continue to get the short end of the stick by their own Republican politicians. Their resentment has all but blinded them to the hard cold facts that conservative small government policies have disenfranchised them, ignored them, and made them unimportant.

In fact, the politics of resentment is proof Republicans haven't done anything to help their own rural constituents like urban Democratic politicians have. So instead of blaming their own Republican representatives for short changing and ignoring their concerns, rural and suburban voters were egged on by their elected officials to blame the Democrats for actually serving their big city constituents.  

Scapegoating is the rule now under Trump. Win or lose, Trump has made anger and resentment a battle cry for sedition. Yes, sedition. Making that case was Thom Hartmann in this editorial:

Lately conservatives haven't even bothered to sound like they respect the will of the people. A growing number of Republicans now say if the next president is a Democrat - AKA Hillary Clinton - these Republicans say they're not going to her let her put anyone on the Supreme Court.

John McCain and Ted Cruz have said as much in recent in recent weeks. Republicans have now moved from obstructionism to outright sedition.

What they're doing now with the Supreme Court is insurgency by other means - it's political terrorism - and it's yet another example of how their party has moved outside the mainstream of American politics into the fantasy-land of reaction ... it's just one way that they're laying siege to our court system - and our democracy.

We saw this coming when Republican voters bought into just two simple words that replaced policy and representative democracy; "freedom" and "liberty." Who needs long policy explanations or problem solving when "freedom" and "liberty" is all that's needed?

The most shocking statement came from Jane Biddick, who has supported Trump since the primary:

"I heard that he said something about groping women, and I’m thinking, Okay, No. 1, I think that’d be great. I like getting groped! I’m heterosexual. I’m a woman, and when a guy gropes me, I get groping on them! I grope them back. Groping is a healthy thing to do. When you’re heterosexual, you grope, okay? It’s a good thing. Try it. I wonder if Nixon groped Pat."

Jane Biddick followed up her support for groping and being groped by adding she hadn't... 

"...even gotten on to see exactly what Trump said, because I think that’s stupid. Unless you want to write Jesus Christ in as your vote, you might as well forget it. Since December, I’ve done very little reading. I’ve heard little snippets here and there on the radio, and I don’t watch TV. I’m just going on what I have at the gut. If Trump really did something that made me feel like he was compromising what I thought was good for the country, I’d get right on and I’d start reading. But all I hear is people are saying he likes to grope women. I’m sorry, that just hasn’t given me any doubt about my vote."

Merchon Andersen is also sticking by Trump "We have become so wussified. Pretty soon, saying hello to someone is going to be considered harassment." 

Allison Doyle also seems to have turned a blind eye to the unpleasant Access Hollywood video, saying, "I haven’t listened to the recording of what he said in 2005, because I feel like it’s so irrelevant. It was 11 years ago. We’re not voting for someone based on their character." She went on to criticize Bill Clinton as "scum," though he is not running for president this election, and that is of course a judgment on his characer. She didn't mention Melania Trump's response to her husband's "locker-room talk," but instead said, "I’ve never heard about Trump cheating. I know he’s had multiple marriages—which, in today’s society, who doesn’t?"

Talk of a governmental takeover is an integral part of the tea party dialogue that assumes they have the patriotic high ground and purpose. Ever wonder why they've never complained about voter suppression tactics that directly effects them? They don't believe in elections, despite reminding us constantly that we live in a republic. The geniuses at Patriots4America apparently stirred up a few too many crazies, and decided to pull the actual story from their site (see pic). How that helps them organize is anyone's guess.

The latest expression of the right’s delusion is a planned march on Washington by 30-million Americans to oust the Obama Administration and Democrats in Congress, convene a right wing tribunal, and appoint a new government consisting of a permanent Republican majority.

The march, occupation, and seizure of the nation’s capital is set for May 16 according to right wing extremists, Tea Party Nation, and various militia groups who named it “Operation American Spring;” a take-off of Egypt’s Arab Spring.

According to Operation American Spring’s organizers, “Our only hope is … to stop the White House from total destruction of the United States and bring to a conclusion the out of control government, one way or the other. It’s now or never. God help us.” The whole plot reeks of the Koch brothers’ John Birch agenda to reshape America into a fascist plutocracy and evangelical theocracy.

The American Spring organizers … delusion is only matched by their publicly announced unconstitutionally seditious tactics to overthrow the government and install a permanent Republican-teabagger authority over the people. Organizers have broken down the government overthrow into three phases:

Phase One: “ten million patriots assembled in a display of unswerving loyalty to the US Constitution and against the incumbent leadership with the mission to oust the existing leadership.”  

Phase two: requires one million or more patriots to stay in D.C. to see Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, McConnell, Boehner, and Attorney General Holder removed from office, and replace Boehner by the senior Republican in the House as Speaker.

Phase three: these unswerving Constitutional loyalists will end Constitutional elections and task the House with electing a Republican president and vice president, and to deal with Democrats forcibly removed from office, “a tribunal comprised of Allen West, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Jim DeMint, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Paul Sessions, and Darrell Issa will assume authority to recommend charges against ousted Democrats and government employees.” In a suspension of the judiciary, they will all be tried and convicted by “the new attorney general appointed by the new president” elected by the Republican House. 

These whiny crybabies produced their own video tantrum as well. What's stunning to me is their belief in the "power of the individual," all the while seeking "leaders." Confused?

The night before America entered World War I, President Woodrow Wilson told a friend, “... Lead this people into war, and they’ll forget there ever was such a thing as tolerance.”

Within weeks, Wisconsin was being called “The Traitor State.” Our 700,000 immigrant and first-generation German residents had no desire to make war on their brothers and cousins. One journalist visiting in 1917 called us, “really the most backward state I've struck in its sentiment toward the war.” Embarrassed by the charges, the state Council of Defense and the Wisconsin Loyalty Legion joined forces to suppress anti-war opinion through persuasion, intimidation and harassment.

Under their state-sponsored propaganda campaign, anyone with ties to Germany could be attacked for disloyalty. “Conformity would be the only virtue,” Wilson had predicted.

In Ashland, people who spoke against the war were tarred and feathered. When Republican Sen. Robert La Follette voted against America’s entry into the war, he was called “a pusillanimous, degenerate coward.”

Everything German became suspect. In Wausau, the National German American Bank changed its name to The American National Bank. La Crosse banned the teaching of German in its elementary schools. Sauerkraut was renamed “liberty cabbage” and wieners became “hot dogs.”

In less than 18 months, public opinion in Wisconsin swung from largely anti-war to overwhelmingly pro-war. It was a triumph of public relations, achieved long before marketers had viral videos, Facebook posts or hourly tweets in their toolkits.

War on Teachers for Disloyalty. The professor also said "he was robbed:"

Ashland, Wisconsin, Monday April 1, 1918: PROFESSOR OF NORTHLAND TARRED AND FEATHERED TAKEN FROM ROOM BY MOB: Masked Men Take Him Half Mile From The City, Give Him a Coat Of Tar and Feathers and Let I Him Walk Back Home. Professor E. A. Schimler, teacher of languages at Northland college, was taken from his room last night about midnight by nearly a dozen masked men, taken to a lonely spot about a half mile from the city, stripped of his clothing and given a substantial coat of tar and feathers. After treating him to the coat of tar and feathers, the men in the party jumped into waiting automobiles and sped back to the city. Schimler, when left by the mob, found his undergarments and walked back to his boarding house. The police were then called … when he arrived at city hall, he was in such a condition that there was no question in any one's mind but that the mob was very liberal in the use of tar and also had on-hand a lot of feathers.

Or how about the jaw dropping Wisconsin State Council of Defense:

“…the Wisconsin State Council of Defense worked with federal officials to ensure that Wisconsin citizens would support the American cause during World War I. It outlines food drives, Liberty Loan promotion, recruiting activities, the Council's journal  "Forward", and other home-front efforts which, in the words of one historian, tried "to change an antimilitaristic democracy into an organized war machine."

Or the Loyalty Legion...would I kid you?

“The Wisconsin Loyalty Legion was created to support the U.S. effort in World War I. During 1917-1918 it organized media campaigns and public events in order to (in the words of one historian) "stifle dissent and generate conformance to an inflexible and irrational standard of loyalty."
