Paul Ryan blasts the government & economy his party has controlled for almost 6 years now.

Paul Ryan described perfectly the massive GOP failure for the last 6 years trying to run the country, and the massive frustration and anger of Americans complaining that Washington is just not working.

"That it seems irrevocably broken. The people want to see congress and their elected leaders tackle those tough problems, not duck those tough problems. They're sick of the paralysis and they're hungry for results, and all too often Washington fails to provide those results...it's easy to resort to division, it's simple prey on peoples fears..."

Thanks Scott Walker, Wisconsin not great anymore...

Before Scott Walker people got along and loved living in Wisconsin. Not anymore. What is it about the Republican penchant for making everything seem nastier than they should be, more costly than we ever could have tolerated, and just a little bit "cold war" scary.

A recent poll shows shines a light on how policy affects the general nature of a state's population under Republican and Democratic control. Cap Times:

Between June and December last year, Gallup asked people about their satisfaction with the state in which they live. Gallup reported the responses:

In Wisconsin, 49 percent of those surveyed say it's at least one of the best, with 8 percent putting the state at No. 1 and 2 percent ranking it at the bottom of the union. Minnesotans see a better life across the border, with 61 percent calling their state among the best. Of that, 13 percent had Minnesota at the top, while 2 percent said it was the worst.

One more interesting side note: party dominance in the top states has an affect too. But that's a bad thing if you start with the idea that "divide and conquer" is part of your bigger vision, especially in a purple state. Many aren't that happy. That's why Minnesota beats us again.

Blogging Blue highlighted what we’re seeing more of these days under one party Republican rule, especially here in Wisconsin. This really isn't just one isolated incident either. It’s manifest destiny, an attitude of entitlement by Republican thugs. Blogging Blue wrote:

Conservatives, especially here in Wisconsin, are really fond of attacking so-called “union thugs,” but here’s an example of a Republican Congressman acting like an absolute thug. Watch as Republican Rep. Michael Grimm of New York.

For conservative voters, this should be an unsettling insight into their party. How could this not be a threat to their freedom and liberty too?    

It’s the Republican “hide the evidence” Party, or How to Conceal their failed policy without anyone noticing.

Getting almost no coverage at all is the obvious attempt by Republicans to cover and conceal their tracks leading to and from their failed policies.

Take the Great Recession, caused by free market fundamentalist deregulation, voluntary oversight and greed. As Republicans push for even greater market freedom believe it or not, they’re trying to conceal the consequences of their ideology with a few tricks:

Cut unemployment benefit weeks and availability to conceal work force reductions and offshoring to overseas cheap labor.

Cut food stamps to conceal lower wages or lost jobs in the U.S.

The same can be said for tort reform:

Cut malpractice settlements to discourage and conceal even more possible lawsuits.

Cut the ability to sue for malpractice to conceal growing number of medical errors made every year.

Cut malpractice lawsuits instead of preventing medical errors in the first place.

Cut business liability for defective products to conceal defective products and corporate irresponsibility.

Prevent lawsuits of any kind to conceal out-of-control free market wild west by business campaign donors.

The same is true of Voter Suppression schemes and voter ID, which conceal how unpopular their platform really is:

Cut voter turnout to secure elections for weak candidates pushing unpopular policies.

Cut voter turnout to reduce the majority to minority size.

Isolate typically Democratic urban areas through gerrymandering securing Republican seats pushing unpopular policies. 

On a national level RNC chair Reince Priebus wants to conceal candidate platforms by limiting questions and debates for public viewing. It's a ploy tea party candidates exploited in 2010, when they refused general media interviews and went to conservative outlets only.
