UW Students send racist conservative think tank "Center for Equal Opportunity" message. .

The new "clan," disguised as the conservative "Center for Equal Opportunity," came to Madison for press coverage and chance to get their racist message out. That didn't happen. 

Instead, UW students stole their headlines with a mass protest, and denouncing the racist out-of-stater's. 

WSJ: UW-Madison waged an all-day offensive Tuesday against a charge that it engages in discriminatory admissions practices — as students and staff rallied on Bascom Hill, hijacked a press conference and disputed the findings of the admissions allegation. Interim Chancellor David Ward, staff and students defended the campus against what officials called an "attack" on its diversity efforts by the Virginia-based Center for Equal Opportunity.

The conservative think tank alleged in a report unveiled Tuesday that UW-Madison discriminates against whites and Asians by admitting less qualified black and Latino students.

...reveal severe discrimination based on race and ethnicity in undergraduate and law school admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with African Americans and Latinos given preference over whites and Asians.

Many weren't fooled.

"I took it as a slap in the face and an insult, almost presuming that none of us worked hard and just got here because of the color of our skin," Mia McKinney, a UW-Madison senior from Racine and a member of PEOPLE, a program to encourage minorities to apply to the school, said of the study. "I think that's a huge presumption and assumption."

The Sleepy little community of New Berlin has a racism problem, big time.

The jaw dropping details of the newly christened racist mecca New Berlin, Wisconsin. 

jsonline-John Diedrich: U.S. authorities sued New Berlin Thursday, alleging that race was the reason the city blocked a low-income housing development by MSP Real Estate Inc., a violation of the federal Fair Housing Act.

A 13-page complaint filed in court spells out the lengths to which city leaders and staff went to block the project, even revising the city's 2020 comprehensive plan. "The defendant's actions as described herein were taken because of race," it said. The complaint details threats against the mayor and his children and racially derogatory terms used during the controversy. The project developer, MSP, also has a pending lawsuit in federal court against the city.
 
Mayor Jack Chiovatero was unsuccessfully targeted for recall for his initial support of the project. He later changed his position. 

The pressures prompted Chiovatero to email a friend."Our city is filled with prejudiced and bigoted people who with very few facts are making this project into something evil and degrading," he wrote. "Unfortunately, I will be doing everything in my power to end this project, it will result in lawsuits and making New Berlin a community of bigots." 

What was so bad that the Fed stepped in? Fox 6 in Milwaukee:

Opposition was strong, with some expressing concern that the prospective tenants would be African-Americans or other minorities and used racially derogatory terms … The complaint says the correspondence mentioned "white flight," "crime," "drugs," "gangs," "families with 10 or 15 kids," of needing "to get a gun," of "slums," of not wanting New Berlin to turn into "Milwaukee," of moving to New Berlin "to get away from the poor people," of not wanting to provide housing to people "who work but do not live here." They also used racially derogatory term for African-Americans.

A sign that read "n----- lover" was placed in the mayor's yard. "Bigot" was spray painted on his driveway. "Leave or _ _ _" was written on his fence, the complaint says. Chiovatero and his family received threatening phone calls. His children were approached by opponents, his car tires were slashed, and his car windows were shot through, it says.

In March, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council filed a federal discrimination complaint against Waukesha County, contending it has been engaged in illegal housing discrimination in violation of rules it needed to follow in receiving some federal money.

It's the Re-segregation of our schools, under the guise of Vouchers. Big Surprise?

With radio grand dragon Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck stoking the flames of racism, the conservative public is again played as gullible and pliant suckers, a portrayal they’ll not doubt find offensive and completely untrue. Man up!!!

School choice conservatives have kept the message simple; vouchers give parents “who know better” choice, and are more effective than public schools. These two points are factually untrue, but never-the-less believed by an ideological public, fearful of a phantom liberal enemy.

What goes unmentioned; Vouchers will break up the teachers union, appeases the religious base and encourage white Americans will flee non-white schools. White flight returns, but under the radar.

Saveourschools.com: A study published in the latest issue of the Review of Economics and Statistics is consistent with other studies of the impact of school choice on racial segregation in schools. The weight of evidence is that school choice leads to more segregated schools.

Other studies show that the racial composition of a school is a large determinant of the black/Hispanic-white gaps in student performance. Black and Hispanic students tend to achieve substantially better when they are in racially mixed environments. Thus, ‘white flight’ from racially-mixed schools is likely to increase inequity in education outcomes.

The study of voter intentions in California has found that universal voucher schemes are likely to increase racial and ethnic segregation across schools. White families tend to use vouchers to leave schools with a high proportion of non-white students.

The study found that non-white concentration in schools has a relatively substantial effect on the propensity of white households with children to support school vouchers. A 10 percentage point increase in the share of non-white students is predicted to increase support for the voucher among white households with children in public school by approximately 2.6 percentage points.

This effect is absent in non-white households. Non-white households appear less
likely to support school vouchers if their children attend schools with higher concentrations of nonwhites. Taken together, the two effects indicate that universal vouchers lead to more segregated public schools.

Further detailed analysis showed that the ‘white flight’ intention was largely driven by the share of Hispanic students in schools who have limited English proficiency.

The new study used data on votes in a state-wide universal voucher initiative in California as an indication of voter intentions to use the voucher. This contrasts with other studies of school segregation which have used data from existing forms of school choice programs. It measured the extent to which vouchers will increase racial and ethnic segregation beyond current levels.

Now that we know the voter intent of vouchers, along with statistical data that indicates “choice” will only widen the racial educational gap, is it any wonder voucher schemes are catching on with even liberals who have bought into the propaganda.
