Wise Ass and serial "blame game" whiner Robin Voss sneers at Civility. We must have Discipline.

Vos has again reached into his snot nosed, big bag of authoritarian overreach, and pulled out the usual stuff. Surprise, this popcorn genius luckily knows more about law enforcement than the Milwaukee’s police chief. Wouldn't you know it, Vos drags out the usual failed costly zero tolerance policies and mandatory minimum sentences again.
jsonline: "I am discouraged by the recent choices made by city leaders to engage in press release politics after a recent surge in gun violence in the city. they also passed the buck by calling for more firearm laws and a half a million dollars to pay for overtime for police. It's easy to place the blame on others and come to the state with your hat in hand."
And hearsay stories from, who knows, disgruntled former Dirty Harry officers who missed their chance to smashed a few heads?
"In recent days, I have had several former police officers contact my office to complain about the city's law enforcement philosophy. What many believe is needed is an aggressive approach to policing that mirrors what's called 'The Broken Windows Theory of Policing' by criminologist George Kelling."
You have to wonder who Vos thinks he's serving with this petty crackdown:
"It's a zero-tolerance approach to minor crimes to help prevent the more serious crimes from even occurring. I support establishing a three-year mandatory minimum sentence for individuals convicted of a felony violation of a firearms law."
There goes the budget again. In the next breath, Vos sounds almost Democratic. Get a load of these solutions I bet Vos would find appalling if Police Chief Flynn would have suggested them:
It's time to admit the violence in Milwaukee is a multifaceted problem, one that won't be solved overnight. State legislators are doing our part by expanding educational choice for students, providing more dollars for public education, increasing funding for job training and other community programs.

Walker's Vengeance knows no Limit on Milwaukee. Think what he could do as President.

I thought this story was shocking enough when you think of everything Walker and the Republican authority were doing to Milwaukee, but now its just getting desperately bizarre. Police Chief Flynn went ballistic.

Keep in mind what Republican State Sen. Glenn Grothman said about the festering hatred on the right for Milwaukee:

Remember how Republicans hated Madison for knowing what's best for everyone? All that has changed. But this was the last straw for Police Chief Ed Flynn:
jsonline: Police Chief Edward Flynn on Friday blasted Gov. Scott Walker for being anti-urban and the Legislature's budget committee for "gratuitous" decisions that killed a community policing grant for his department and set in motion the departure of the state crime lab from Milwaukee.

"I don't know of a governor anywhere in the country who succeeded in turning his state's economy around by actively facilitating the decline of his biggest city. This isn't like, bad things are happening in Milwaukee and I can't stop it. This is, can I put another stick in the eye of Milwaukee on another issue? It's certainly not good government. There's 600,000 people here. It's not smart economic policy."

"I don't want to be a partisan," Flynn said. "But I'm not blind. This is partisan. Unfortunately, if you happen to be a Milwaukee resident, you must suffer the apparent desperate need of the (Walker) administration to exact political payback on Milwaukee. Because the mayor had the temerity to challenge for the governor's job. What else could it be? I would prefer not to think the Legislature hates us because we live in Milwaukee. I would prefer to not think it was a kind of prejudice against urban challenges and issues. But it's not much more edifying to say, 'OK, you made the political point.'

"Perhaps, you know, the leadership of this city should go to Madison and kiss a ring and bend our knees and say, 'Yes, overlords, please don't hurt us anymore. We're so sorry.' I mean, enough."

Flynn echoed a comment made recently by former mayor John Norquist who said that, without Milwaukee, Wisconsin was basically Iowa. "Maybe he wants us to be Iowa," Flynn said of Walker. "Spending as much time there as he is here."

(Before losing it, the) community policing grant would have provided $445,400 over the next two years to expand the city's ShotSpotter system. The system detects the shock waves from a bullet being fired and transmits that information immediately to the department's communications facility and computers inside squad cars.

Milwaukee's Police Chief interrupts do nothing Republican Lindsey Graham.

I thought this appearance of Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn was spot on about gun legislation to save lives. Sen. Lindsey Graham continued the freeloading Republican thing of doing absolutely nothing, suggesting we "enforce the laws on the books." Code for "is this over yet?" Or how about that the new one; go after the mentally ill. Love that piece of "small government" laziness. Check out why Flynn decided not to waste his time while addressing  the Senate Judiciary hearing on guns:

jsonline: Invoking both the Newtown school massacre and chronic gun violence in American cities, Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn urged Congress Wednesday to ban sales of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines to civilians.

"I've wondered frequently in the past decade how many people have to get murdered in a mass murder for it to be enough," Flynn said. "Is 20 babies enough to say these implements should not be so easily distributed?"

Sen. Lindsey Graham argued that the government should instead do more to enforce current laws, asking why it was that so few people who fail background checks are prosecuted for lying on their applications to buy guns.

Flynn interrupted to object. "You know what? It doesn't matter!" Flynn answered, "We don't make those cases, senator. We have priorities. We make gun cases. We make 2,000 gun cases a year. That's our priority. We're not in a paper chase. We're trying to prevent the wrong people buying guns.

That's why we do background checks. If you think I'm going to do a paper chase, then you think I'm going to misuse my resources."

Later, in a Journal Sentinel interview: “So it's specious," he said of complaints about the failure to prosecute people who failed background checks. "It's just one of those things they throw out there to pretend we're not doing our job." “If you can't hit your target after 10 rounds, you're a menace to society. I mean, stop it."
