Trump supporting media trolls immediately stepped up to help their new king out:

Red State: “If the liberals currently losing their collective minds over this are correct, then shame on Priebus and Day. An equally likely scenario is that this was a hastily crafted message, and very little thought was put into the wording.”

First, it's crazy to think thoughtful and measured Trumpian supporters would ever lose their collective minds, right? Second, the party of God and Jesus simply made a hastily written error, that's all...(except to those who truly want to believe Trump will save them). 

Third, we know all liberals hate religion, or most of them, or even some of them, unlike ALL conservatives who believe in and pray to Jesus everyday.

"And if liberals don’t care about insulting Christians or acknowledging Jesus the other 364 days of the year, it really is rather disingenuous for them to be up in arms about it, now."

Merry Christmas Bill, in summer? Texas Republicans with time on their hands will pass anything.

Upside down and inside out, Republicans continue to have difficulty acting out their own ideological belief system. While badgering Democrats about creating jobs, Republicans have no such limit on what they can do. They even have time to pass slop like the constitution defying “Merry Christmas Bill.

Never mind how it contradicts a multitude of conservative talking points:

Huffington Post: During the signing of Texas' "Merry Christmas Bill" on Thursday, Gov. Rick Perry said, "Religious freedom does not mean freedom from religion," Perry declared at the State Capitol building in Austin before signing HB 308, which allows public schools to display scenes and symbols of "traditional winter holidays."

Here’s where I’m reminded of the outside groups that have come into states as poll watchers, referendum pushers and lawyers litigating the conservative agenda on corporate spending and gay marriage.

"People of faith too often feel they can't express their faith publicly. And if they dare display it, they find themselves under attack from individuals and organizations that have nothing to do with them or their communities for that matter," Perry continued.

To sum up; under Republican control, the rules are different because their reasons are more justifiable, because I assume, their agenda isn't influenced by liberalism. 

One short aside: This is all it takes to launch a statewide bill for Republicans:

One might wonder why such a law is necessary. Republican state Rep. Dwayne Bohac, who introduced the bill, explained how he had become upset upon hearing from his 8-year-old son that the Christmas tree at his public school was referred to as "a holiday tree." Bohac said, "This is just political correctness run amok."

The article surprisingly goes on to make this great observation:

The U.S. Constitution specifically forbids government preference of one religion over another. A state law called the "Merry Christmas Bill," if only by its name, would seem to defy that principle.

After the weirdos from Wisconsin Family Action set up their cheap looking figurine Nativity scene in the Capitol rotunda, the Freedom from Religion Foundation set up their own scene...

The display includes a baby girl in a manger, three wise people and Venus as Mary. Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein and Mark Twain make up the three wise people. The angels in the scene include the Statue of Liberty and an astronaut.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation said its display is meant to celebrate the winter solstice. The group said that in celebrating the winter solstice, it is celebrating reality.

I love the little sign reading "It's a girl." I assume as a satirical shot at frightened conservatives, they asked Capitol police for extra security around their farcical manger scene.

Christmas Zealots, Wisconsin Family Action, Shove Nativity in our Face and deny trying to Create a Scene.

Fringe zealots at Wisconsin Family Action, have set up a naivety scene in the Capitol rotunda. They applied for and got a permit to do so with the DOA. Check out Julaine Appling practically begging for attention:

Channel3000: Madison’s state capitol dome is home to a scene Christians believe unfolded in Bethlehem more than two thousand years ago. Though the capitol rotunda has been home to a menorah during Hanukkah and other religious displays, many are now asking the question:

Does a nativity display that depicts the story of the birth of Christ belong at the State Capitol? One group says 'no,' and that same group has filed a permit to have a display of its own. It's one that Christians may take issue with. "We think it’s a very tasteful presentation," proclaimed Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action about the nativity scene. And she should. The nativity was set up at the capitol by the conservative organization to the disagreement of some.

A display that rests near a sign posted by the Freedom from Religion Foundation that proclaims there is no god.

Watching the video, it really is a sad looking nativity display hosted by a very lonely desperate person:

Appling feels everybody already is welcome at the capitol building. "Right now, sitting next to our display is one whose message I completely disagree with, but they have as much right to be there as we do," said Appling.

Right Wing Media gins up Phony Outrage over Christmas...Again. Tree Tax was industry idea, not Obama's.

According to the right wing media machine: “The President gets into the holiday spirit the only way he knows how: By taxing!” Let the outrage begin. First, lefties in Wisconsin claim that Scott Walker is bringing back the holiday wars by calling the holiday tree a Christmas…blah, blah, blah.

The big problem with the phony outrage demonstrated by the conservative loons; the Obama administration suspended that tax, for now. They shouldn’t have because it makes them look guilty of something, which they’re not.

ABC News: The U.S. Department of Agriculture is going to delay implementation and revisit a proposed new 15 cent fee on fresh-cut Christmas trees, sources tell ABC News. The fee, requested by the National Christmas Tree Association  in 2009, was first announced in the Federal Registry yesterday and has generated criticism of President Obama from conservative media outlets.

This is a fee for marketing, instituted by the association representing Christmas tree growers. Suspending the fee now jeopardizes "enhancing the image of the Christmas tree industry:

The National Christmas Tree Association says the fee would fund a program “designed to benefit the industry and will be funded by the growers” and is “not expected to have any impact on the final price consumers pay for their Christmas tree.” The proposed Christmas Tree Promotion Board, which would be funded by the new fee, would launch a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expand existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” and to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States.”

But "looking" guilty and spinelessness is an automatic response by Democrats, still, no matter how hard we try to change that.

White House spokesman Matt Lehrich told ABC News that despite some media coverage, “What’s being talked about here is an industry group deciding to impose fees on itself to fund a promotional campaign, similar to how the dairy producers have created the ‘Got Milk?’ campaign.” Nonetheless, the criticisms have apparently had an impact as the program is now being delayed.
