MAGA Republicans won't clarify Treatments for At-Risk Expectant Mothers after Roe, and no comment from "pro-like" groups either.

These so-called "pro-life" Republicans have yet to act, they're on vacation. They have put at-risk expectant mothers in danger by not defining what medical procedures would be left to a physician's discretion. Without that clarification, medical care is being withheld for fear of lawsuits (tort reform is so 1990's for GOP). This is what happens when politicians play doctor.

Kleefisch's Empty Vision: The vacationing Republican Legislature isn't even thinking about a special session to define permissible treatments due to the abortion ban. Just as scary; if they did, they would be giving medical advice. Let that sink in. Kleefisch's appeal below means nothing, and she knows it:

On NPR a few mornings ago, add another expectant mother's nightmare story that Christian nationalist politicians and the Supreme Court have unleashed on our huge population:

MAGA Republicans have fully implemented "government-controlled health care." To be clear, it's not like government provided health insurance, the kind of reform Democrats have pushed for the last 80 years. MAGA's big government takeover and intrusion on health care, education, and business is now oddly applauded by supposed "small government voters" drooling over these power grabs.   

Delegitimized Republican Supreme Court throws democracy into Chaos...

A few thoughts I'm surprised reporters aren't even just a little curious about:

1. American Union: Like the Soviet Union, Republicans are working toward a group of satellite republics under one authoritarian government, helped now by a politically radical Supreme Court, who will now turn federal law over to the states. 

Each state will be independent, and the Supreme Court is now positioned to make this happen. I'm not making this up. Remarkably, former presidential candidate Scott Walker revealed the plan in March of 2016:  

I’d like to take huge chunks of the federal government and send it back to the states. For years people have talked about Medicaid—that’s a good start, to block grant that. But I’d take major social service programs, I’d take transportation and infrastructure, workforce and development, environmental protection, and heck I’d take education and instead of spending each of those down from Washington where the federal government skims off huge chunks of money and sends pennies on the dollar back to the state governments, why not keep those dollars back in the states where states can be more effective, more efficient, and certainly be held accountable to the hardworking taxpayers?

Right now, at the federal level, we have a federal government that’s too big to fail. We need a government that’s small enough to succeed.

2. Did Republicans just Purge Women from the labor force? Despite a growing labor shortage and a decline in birth rates, forced childbirth will push many out of the workplace.

3. If Republicans Dissolved and privatized the Postal Service, this would happen: Sure, the Postal Service is protected in the First Amendment, but Republicans tried like hell to make it go away. That would have made it even easier to do this...

I know, how can a state ban mail delivery? But they'll try, and then take it to the right-wing activist Supreme Court, already delegitimized by the Roe decision among others. 

4. Businesses Step Up: The reason for overturning Roe will result in a never-ending avalanche of insane laws put forth by the party of small government. In a surprise move that you're sure to see made illegal soon by red states everywhere...

It's also a growing corporate movement...

Prominent companies have already taken political and financial stands against the erosion of reproductive rights. The case is one of the court's most controversial cases in decades — so much so that the highly charged and personal debate over a right to an abortion is spilling over into the corporate sphere.

Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Bumble (BMBL), Citigroup (C), Levi Strauss (LEVI), Match Group (MTCH), and Yelp (YELP) reimburse travel expenses incurred to obtain abortion care that's legally unavailable within their home state.

Meanwhile, Salesforce (CRM) is offering to pick up moving expenses for its employees who live in a state with an abortion ban exceeding that of Roe, and move to another without such restrictions.

And Uber (UBER) and Lyft (LYFT) adopted similar policies that reimburse their drivers for legal fees to defend lawsuits in the event that they are accused of aiding and abetting an illegal abortion.

The Right to Bear Arms gets the GOP's Abortion Rights treatment.

The Constitutional right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extends to a woman's decision to have an abortion.

Another "right" legislated by conservative activist Justices gave everybody the right to bear arms.

Both rights are not treated the same by Republicans. And so we got this...

Missouri Democrat Files Bill To Regulate Guns LikeRepublicans Do Vaginas!

To get a gun, prospective purchasers will experience a slight inconvenience to exercise their right: 

Democratic Representative Stacey Newman has had enough of this nonsense, and has filed a bill, H.B. 1397, that would make it as difficult to get a gun as it is to have an abortion in the Show Me State:

A licensed firearm dealer shall orally inform the purchaser of a firearm the following, and reduce it to writing:

The name and license number of the licensed firearm dealer;

The immediate and long-term medical risks associated with firearms, along with medical descriptions and photographs of fatal firearm injuries, as collected by emergency pediatric medical professionals, law enforcement, and prosecutors’ offices;

Alternatives to purchasing a firearm, which shall include materials about peaceful and nonviolent conflict resolution.

Prior to any firearm purchase in this state, a prospective firearm purchaser shall, at least seventy-two hours prior to the initial request to purchase a firearm from a licensed firearm dealer located at least one hundred twenty miles from such purchaser’s legal residence, confer and discuss with a licensed physician the indicators and contraindicators and risk factors, including any physical, psychological, or situational factors, that may arise with the proposed firearm purchase.

Such physician shall then evaluate the prospective firearm purchaser for such indicators and contraindicators and risk factors and determine if such firearm purchase would increase such purchaser’s risk of experiencing an adverse physical, emotional, or other health reaction.

Gun buyers would also have to watch a 30-minute video “on fatal firearm injuries” and verify in writing that he or she viewed the entire video “in the presence of a licensed firearm dealer.”

Verify in writing by a licensed physician that the purchaser has toured an emergency trauma center in the nearest qualified urban hospital on a weekend between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. when gun violence victims are present.

Within seventy-two hours of a firearm purchase, the prospective firearm purchaser shall meet with at least two families who have been victims of violence involving a firearm and two local faith leaders who have officiated, within the past year, a funeral of a victim of violence involving a firearm who was under the age of eighteen.
