McCain attacks Trump in speech to World.

John McCain maybe the guy who gave us Sarah Palin, but he also gave us this incredible take down speech of Trump, a must see and proud moment his fellow Republicans will ignore completely:

During a speech at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Republican senator from Arizona delivered a pointed and striking point-by-point takedown of Trump's worldview and brand of nationalism. McCain didn't mention Trump's name once, but he didn't have to.

In his speech, McCain suggested the Western world is uniquely imperiled this year — even more so than when Barack Obama was president — and proceeded to question whether it will even survive.

“In recent years, this question would invite accusations of hyperbole and alarmism; not this year. If ever there were a time to treat this question with a deadly seriousness, it is now.”

"[The founders of the Munich conference] would be alarmed by an increasing turn away from universal values and toward old ties of blood and race and sectarianism.”

“They would be alarmed by the hardening resentment we see towards immigrants and refugees and minority groups -- especially Muslims.”

“They would be alarmed by the growing inability -- and even unwillingness -- to separate truth from lies.”

"They would be alarmed that more and more of our fellow citizens seem to be flirting with authoritarianism and romanticizing it as our moral equivalent."

McCain concluded, by taking on Trump's low bar for world leadership:

Two weeks ago, you may recall, Trump suggested the United States didn't exactly have the moral high ground on Russia. Asked by Fox News host Bill O'Reilly about wanting good relations with a “killer” like Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump demurred.

“There are a lot of killers. We have a lot of killers. Well, you think our country is so innocent?”

McCain then concluded with another direct shot at Trump.

“I refuse to accept that our values are morally equivalent to those of our adversaries,” he said. “I am a proud, unapologetic believer in the West, and I believe we must always, always stand up for it. For if we do not, who will?

McCain also defended the press:

Republicans say Conservative Activist Judges are better than Liberal Activist Judges.

Republican have no shame. Let's take a look at their hypocritical stand on judicial activism and the disturbing silence by the media and Democrats .

First, didn’t we have impartial judges once upon a time? Second, why are we supposed to assume conservative activist judges are better than liberal activist judges?

The Republican point is, once you accept the idea that everyone is a strict partisan, activism is no longer a problem. 

That's when you get what Sen. John McCain puked out of his face hole the other day:

McCain pledged that Senate Republicans would unite against any Supreme Court nominee that a hypothetical President Clinton would try to get confirmed. "I promise you that we will, we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton — if she were president — would put up. This is why we need the majority." 

Yea, if only Republicans had a one party system where they could ignore everyone else and politically poison everything, including the judicial branch. That would bring us back to where the founding fathers hoped we'd be as a nation. Imagine if there were two or three justices openings?

In an LA Times opinion "GOP obstructionism gone haywire: No new Supreme Court justices until the next Republican president?" they offered this:

"...it also could backfire by giving the next president an even freer hand in shaping the Supreme Court. Some might call that poetic justice."

Even scarier, the idea that a complete narcissist sociopath would be praised for his own choices for the court…oh, never mind:

Trump has earned praise from some conservatives for floating roughly 20 names, including Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), as potential Supreme Court nominees should he win the White House. 

Yup, Sen. Mike Lee. Why? Holy crap, look at his credentials:

1. He wants to do away with the 14th and 17th Amendment.

2. He thinks the Supreme Court should rule child labor laws as unconstitutional.

3. Federal Disaster Relief and FEMA should be deemed unconstitutional.

4. Social Security should be unconstitutional.

5. The Violence Against Women Act is also unconstitutional. 

6. Medicare and Medicaid are unconstitutional.

7. The FDA and food safety programs should be shut down.

8. Lee claims that raising taxes on the rich would actually hit the poor the hardest.

9. Sen. Lee was very vocal about pushing the global economy into crisis by letting America default on its debt, unless a new Constitutional amendment was written.

10. Sen. Lee had a minister claim Obama needed to put down his Koran and “come up with his hands out” in surrender to them.

The Seething Inner Anger and Ruthlessness of the American Conservative, where nothing really matters.

This is what you get from a party based on paranoia, hate and envy, whether it's Trump, Ryan, Walker, Boehner, McConnell, Sykes, Belling, McKenna....etc.!

"He's not a war hero," Trump told the crowd at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa. "He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

Remember the Swift Boat attacks on John Kerry? When Republicans decide they don't give a rats ass about you, they take you out. No honor among thieves.

Sen. John McCain okay with jobs and business losses from TPP.

Imagine the following audio comment from Sen. John McCain being said by Hillary or Obama. Imagine the Republican outrage!!!

Sen. Mitch McConnell’s first term threat is over. Goodbye to Obama’s one term presidency.

The new second term threat? I'll let Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham pass along their own  most outrageous strategy. Watch Graham smile like a Cheshire cat and see other Republicans misread intentionally who's actually spending all the money:



They’re not going to raise the debt ceiling. Hmm, I wonder if that creates a feeling of uncertainty, the very problem Republicans have been harping about for 4 years. This graphic says it all:

So why is Social Security and Medicare being blamed?

The media is just fine perpetuating this false premise, by not correcting it. I screen captured this Politico story below, which shows you exactly what I mean:

Is it the president or congress dragging out these deadlines? Congress, right?

So why do we continue to accept this level of BS from guys like Sen. Cornyn?

Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican: “It may be necessary to partially shut down the government in order to secure the long-term fiscal well-being of our country, rather than plod along the path of Greece, Italy and Spain. President Obama needs to take note of this reality and put forward a plan to avoid it immediately.”

Greece isn't anything like the U.S., so that’s a distraction; it’s the work of the Senate and House that matters, not the position of the president. Congress needs to work as the “legislative branch” of government. That’s their job. What they produce is sent off to the “executive branch,” for the president’s signature. Waiting for the president to draft legislation is not the duty of the executive branch.

The Senate and House need to fulfill their constitutional duties, and stop blaming the president.
