Kohl’s departure leaves Feingold, Ryan, and Neumann for open seat. Anyone else?

Yeah, that's all we needed was another Democratic open seat to fill in 2012.

jsonline: Russ Feingold and Paul Ryan, two names that loom large as potential Senate candidates, both released noncommittal statements Friday saying they will defer any decision about the race until they’ve discussed it with family members and supporters.
“I … want to take some time over the next few days to discuss this news with my family and supporters before making any decision about how I’m best able to serve my employers in the 1st Congressional District, our state and nation," said Ryan.
Feingold’s former chief of staff Mary Irvine provided a statement to the Journal Sentinel saying Feingold didn’t know of Kohl’s plans before today. Said Irvine: “Running for office in 2012 is not something Russ is eager to do or has been planning to do. He is very committed to his current projects -- teaching law at Marquette University Law School, Progressives United, and writing a book about American foreign policy. He will come to a decision, in the coming months, after consulting with family and friends and people in Wisconsin.”
Former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann is among the Republicans considering running for U.S. Senate.
Neumann had been considering running against Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl in the November 2012 race, but Kohl announced Friday he will not seek re-eleciton. Asked if he would run for the open seat, Neumann said Friday: "We haven't ruled it out and it's certainly something Sue (his wife) and I want to think about and pray about."

Feingold, alone at the table in new ad.

Sen. Russ Feingold has frustrated me many times, he's always pushing for a better bill, but his determination not to compromise effective legislation is a quality that takes some getting used to. Feingold's new ad reminds me of how an informed Senator can make the process look easy. Imagine "sunspot" Ron Johnson trying to prevent the continued offshoring of American jobs or hammering out the details of improved veterans benefits. You can't plastic wrap effectiveness.

Feingold GOP opponant Johnson claims Greenland "was actually green at one point...whole lot whiter now."

Feingold's Republican Senate candidate Ron Johnson is proving over and over that "ruling" in congress is far more important than making informed decisions based on "knowledge."

In a 27 News interview at his Oshkosh plastics factory, Johnson said the rise in Earth's temperature was more likely caused by solar activity than man-made carbon dioxide emissions, and that shifting climate patterns were part of an ongoing natural cycle.

"There's a reason Greenland was called Greenland," he said. "It was actually green at one point in time. And it's been, since, it's a whole lot whiter now."

According to straightdope.com:

Erik the Red was forced to leave Norway because (he was) involved in killings (details are not given). He used the time to explore the rumored lands to the west.

He purposely chose the pleasant name Grænland ("green land") to attract settlers, but the choice wasn't exactly misleading. Some parts of Greenland, especially the parts the Norse settled, really are green.

Did anyone vet this guy? Johnson is still polling well against Sen. Russ Feingold. This is all even more amazing since he's made a number of major verbal gaffes, ignored or forgotten by the major media outlets throughout the state, where he continues to restate those same retracted gaffes again and again.
