National School Board normalizes Threats of Violence and Death, with shocking apology! RadicalRebecca supports threats!!!

The ugly part of watching this version of the Democratic Party is how bad they are in a fight. 

The right-wing QAnon types have threatened and nearly succeeded in taking over the Capitol and overturning the presidential election, utilized white nationalist militias at BLM protests, and have terrorized election and health officials for simply doing their jobs. The push back by Democrats is almost invisible and getting worse.

Evers’ campaign spokesman, Sam Roecker, called Kleefisch’s comments “absolutely abhorrent. No one in Wisconsin should be encouraging violence of any kind, much less a candidate for governor,” he said.

Kleefisch: "I would love for these folks to have gone through what Gov. Scott Walker and I went through during the recalls:The vuvuzelas and the drums, and the death threats, and the people who were showering inside the public restrooms, sleeping two-by-two in sleeping bags, banging on cars, threatening my children, spreading lies and intimidating us,” Kleefisch said in audio obtained by the liberal advocacy group American Bridge 21st Century and provided to The Associated Press on Wednesday. “Imagine if school board members felt something like that. Instead, all they feel is the pressure of their actual constituents asking them to do their job.”

National School Board Apologizes for Reacting to Right-Wing Death Threats? Yup. Big money conservative billionaire activists and gullible parents have disrupted school board meetings shouting down board members for teaching “critical race theory,” and instituting mask mandates. But Sen. Chuck Grassley wrote in a letter...: 

"Parents should absolutely be involved in public debates over what and how our public schools teach their children, even if those discussions get heated.”

Wisconsin Examiner: NSBA’s Board of Directors wrote to its members that “we regret and apologize for the letter.” The six-page Sept. 29 NSBA letter to Biden asked for federal assistance and detailed, at length, threats and harassment that school board officials and teachers across the country are facing.

“As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

The threats are real. Here's a video featuring some of the actual audio recording of these threats, threats the NSBA is oddly now apologizing for taking so seriously (contains graphic language):

NSBS said: "However, there was no justification for some of the language included in the letter."

Really? VICE: 

As one school board pointed out:

“When these behaviors are ignored, when there’s no accountability for these actions, they become normalized and acceptable, and they get reinforced,” Brevard County School Board member Jennifer Jenkins said during a Monday Zoom conference, the Phoenix reported.

Here are more examples:

In Wisconsin, several school board members have quit in the middle of their terms; others are facing recalls; and a host of local elected citizens report being shouted at, sworn at, followed and threatened with physical harm.

In Florida, the Florida Phoenix reported that several school board members detailed threatening text messages, vandalism and harassment they continue to face over masking requirements amid the pandemic.

Jenkins also detailed in a Washington Post opinion piece how someone outlined the letters “FU” in weedkiller on her front lawn and she said that someone falsified a report accusing her of abusing her child. “My 5-year-old daughter was on a play date last month when an investigator from the Florida Department of Children and Families sat at my kitchen table to question me about how I disciplined her, then accompanied me to the play date to check for nonexistent burn marks beneath her clothes,” Jenkins wrote. “Someone had falsely reported that I abused my child. The report was quickly dismissed, but this was the low point in the short time I have been a Brevard County School Board member.”

Chaos Destroys Local School Board Control: What's next? Well, here's a frightening peak at how this can morph into something so much worse. And this is just one example: 

Dumb Ron Johnson trying to block, or at least muck up investigation into Voucher abuse of Children with disabilities.

It’s oddly funny how the Republicans continue their dogged pursuit of the IRS and Hillary emails, trying to uncover wrong doing no matter what the cost, for momentary red meat for the waiting throng of rabid conservative voters.

But when the Obama administrations justice department investigates voucher school abuse and discrimination of students with disabilities, at the request of Disability Rights Wisconsin, the ACLU and the concerned parents of 3 children, well, that’s an outrage and they’d better stop:

Ron Johnson is trying to use the authority of a key Senate committee he chairs — Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs — to get to the bottom of a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into Wisconsin voucher schools ... stressed his concern that the department's investigation into whether Milwaukee voucher schools discriminated against students with disabilities is driven by policy opposition to the private, mostly religious schools that receive taxpayer dollars. He said the department has failed to justify its role in the continued monitoring of the Milwaukee voucher program … A DOJ spokesman on Thursday declined to comment about Johnson's most recent letter, "due to the ongoing investigation."

The federal investigation ... contended that voucher schools were not complying with the federal Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act.

Not complying with laws on the books? Not a problem for elitist Republicans who think they're above the law. But taxpayers are getting ripped off by private schools who have a distinct advantage; they don't have any accountability, even when they admit they aren't complying with the law because they can't afford it:

They do not have the same legal requirement as public schools to serve the students' needs. Voucher advocates point out that they get less total funding per pupil than public schools and would not be able to afford, say, a full-time nurse for a student with severe physical disabilities. Proving anything with records is difficult because the voucher schools are private and not subject to open records requests like public schools.

Can you imagine a Democratic program, running as long as vouchers, never having any taxpayer accountability? Good luck with that. 

Despite being told it's an ongoing investigation, Dumb Ron Johnson is in desperate need of appearing busy, that he's doing something and engaged, and that he's aware of what's going on around him. We're not fooled:

In his follow-up letter this week, Johnson asked Lynch for those items again, as well as for factual evidence of the basis for the department's "lengthy investigation" into the schools. He stressed that his committee would consider the use of "compulsory process" to obtain the materials if the Justice Department declined to produce the materials.

Of course, because he knows he can milk this thing for as long as the investigation continues.

Let’s face it, Republicans are out to prove government is bad, so they're unintentionally botching it up every step of the way. All they’re doing is passing the trash on their checklist of right wing priorities, and magically, they’ll take care of themselves? Here’s another story that proves how bad government can be, compliments of the party that hates it so much:

jsonline: Wisconsin residents have overwhelmed the state Justice Department with so many concealed weapon permit applications agency officials say they probably won't meet deadlines for issuing approvals this month despite pulling dozens of employees from other tasks to help.

That’s right, the rest of government has to suffer so the Justice Dept. won’t have to spend money hiring more GOVERNMENT employees to take on the added cost. Our overzealous Republican extremists set an unrealistic deadline to prove how irrational they could be passing out permits:

The law requires the agency to process applications received before Nov. 30 within 45 days. Any applications received after that date must be processed within 21 days.

(The DOJ) had received 64,832 applications, issued 36,373 permits and denied 800, mostly because addresses applicants submitted didn't match their addresses in state Department of Transportation records.

If this were voter registration, Republicans would be screaming fraud at the top of their voice. 800 hundred fraudulent names. Amazing? But just to show you how convoluted and bad Republicans are at running government, check out how bent out of shape conservatives are when they have to add more lazy overpaid employees:

The law doesn't impose any sanctions or penalties if the agency fails to meet the deadlines … The law authorized $236,700 drawn from application fees for 11 new Department of Justice hires to help process applications, including 10 six-month employees whose jobs will end in March. However, the agency has been operating with only 10 of the new positions; two of the six-month workers left and the agency re-filled only one of the positions. End-of-the-year holidays have slowed processing down … been forced to pull sometimes dozens of other employees a day from their regular tasks to work on applications … They've worked on days off and postponed vacations into next year to devote more time to the applications … the department has paid out about $30,000 in overtime on application work between Nov. 4 and Dec. 17. The Legislature's budget committee approved a department request to spend $1.5 million from application fees to hire more than two dozen additional employees to help with applications over the next two fiscal years. Eleven six-month employees will start work on Jan. 3 but will need up to a month of training. The remaining 14.5 employees will start in March, after the nine current limited-term positions end.

Chaos? So this is the Republican version of streamlining government?
