Over One Million Want to Recall Walker....

Here's the latest on the Walker recall numbers:

jsonline: Democrats and organizers will file petitions with more than a million signatures Tuesday afternoon … a massive number that seems to cement a historic recall election against him for later this year.

The sheer number of signatures being filed - nearly as many as the total votes cast for Walker in November 2010, and almost twice as those needed to trigger a recall election - ensure the election will be held … "It is beyond legal challenge," said Ryan Lawler, vice chairman of United Wisconsin. According to official election results, Walker got 1,128,941 votes (52.25%), while Barrett got 1,004,303 votes (46.48%).

Former U.S. Rep. Dave Obey, who has been in state politics for a half-century, called the recall effort "an amazing development." But, "what is unprecedented is the way that the governor and his allies ran roughshod over normal legislative and political procedures," said Obey, declining to say whether he might run against Walker. "He's abused the very process that elected him, and that's what's got people so angry."

In the Sykes interview, Walker acknowledged there would be a recall election, adding that it would give him a chance to get his message out … the governor said the recall effort and the millions of dollars that will be raised were being driven by big-government unions. "They want their hands on that money … It's a lot easier to sign a recall petition than it is to vote," Walker said.

The state Democratic Party said they would submit more than a million signatures for Walker and more than 845,000 for Kleefisch … over 21,000 for Pam Galloway of Wausau, over 21,000 for Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls and over 24,000 for Van Wanggaard of Racine.

"It's typical of Scott Walker to avoid the people of Wisconsin and report to his East Coast masters," Graeme Zielinski said.
