Some things seem so petting, and yet are so important to anti-government politicians. They hate the job so much, they’ll do anything make their point.
Hey, let’s lower the standards for school nurses, because…well, why not. Let’s get rid of these silly regulations.
jsonline: A bill that would lower the educational requirement for school nurses, a four-year bachelor's degree, but still require them to undergo public health training is scheduled for a vote Tuesday in the Assembly … Already passed by the Senate in an 18-15 vote. The Wisconsin Association of School Nurses opposes the bills.
Ann Riojas, president of the Wisconsin Association of School Nurses and a nurse supervisor in Milwaukee Public Schools, said about 93% of school nurses in Wisconsin have a bachelor's degree. "We're looking at the advanced skills," Riojas said, adding that school nurses handle a variety of complicated tasks, from administering G-tube medication to handling children with an increasing array of chronic conditions to researching or mentoring student nurses. She said a full four-year nursing degree can be invaluable to helping nurses address a school's needs.
But let’s lower the standard instead, putting kids in danger of medical mistakes that tort reform laws prevent parents from pursuing lawsuits. It’s all part of deconstructing public schools for no damn reason at all.
