Man Known by Neighbors as "the guy with the gun," Robbed of his Gun. THE GUN MADE HIM A TARGET!

This story is just to delicious. My conservative gun owning friend gave me the heads up on this report from WTMJ 4 in Milwaukee. Kinda blows the lid off the whole reason why anyone should be allowed to carry a weapon.

A 34 year old man who legally owned a handgun carried it out in the open in his holster for protection. Neighbors say they knew he was always armed.

"It was kind of scary to just see him walking around all the time with that gun kind of just out in the open," said Shambria Mayham Autman. She lives near Teutonia and Good Hope and said they called him "the guy with the gun." "I think he was trying to scare people off like yeah don't mess with me kind of attitude but it didn't work."

But it wasn't scary for at least one person who robbed the "guy with the gun" at gunpoint.

The victim … believes, in his case, open carry made him a target and he will no longer do it.
So what can a person do if carrying a firearm out in the open isn't enough to scare and prevent someone from robbing you?

He said his case proves gun owners should have the right to carry concealed weapons.
Lesson learned?
The president of Wisconsin Carry, Nik Clark, says … I think it really does make the point that Wisconsin should have conceal carry along with open carry so that people who live in a very high crime neighborhood where criminals aren't deterred by firearms would have the ability to conceal carry to protect themselves. The two really work hand in hand."
Oh yes, you can't have one without the other...Uh oh, did he just say what I think he said? If criminals aren't deterred by firearms, then WTF is the point of carrying guns, in the open or concealed?

Carrying guns doesn't do a goddamn thing to make people safe.

Their dirty little secret is out. What we have are immature grownups playing with the same dangerous toys that would have normally got them grounded if their parents found out. And when we see a guy carrying a gun, who doesn't assume he's got a small dick.

I just got this YouTube comment that pretty much sums up how I felt:

AAAHHHHH HHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHaaaaaahhaaahhaahhahhaaaahha... Wait I can't stop laughing enough to type...HHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA....AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA... Dam I can't breath..... HHHHHAAAAAhahahahahahaaaaaa... What a hhhhhhhahaaaaaaahahahahahaaaa Dumbass.. hhhhHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAHHHAAA Oh shit I think I just pulled something....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhaaaahaaaaa... WWWWWHHHHHHHHEWWWWWWWWWW.... 1. As long as the OP believes carry firearms does not good will he/she be advocating to disarm law enforcement and the military?

    I'll await an answer

  2. Wow, what an uneducated blog. By your logic, cops shouldn't have guns either. All your arguments could apply to them as well.

How about instead of telling people what they can and can't do, how about we let people provide for their own security in the manner they choose?

  3. Wow, what an uneducated answer.

Cops are trained extensively, and continue to retrain, where paranoid idiots carry guns up and down the street have no training and think people can provide their own security. How has that worked in Somalia? People respect professional police officers, that's why no one is trying to disarm them, or the military for that matter. Another words, they know what they're doing. You want to take these trained professionals on, be my guest.

You have this thing about "people telling you what to do." Not into the discipline thing either I assume. Letting untrained psychopaths provide their own protection is loony tunes. This story illustrates just how false that sense of security is for him and you.
