Republican Presidential air apparent Sarah Palin will see to it a lot of people will be hurt, destroyed or die from health care problems under her vision for America. According to Health News:
Palin’s record on health care is relatively thin. Based on an overview of her record as governor, her overall stance on health care is that it must be market- and business-driven, and personal responsibility in lieu of government responsibility is preferred.
Most recently, Palin dealt with the issue of health care during her State of the State Address on January 15, 2008. In that speech, she specifically asked her constituents to take personal responsibility for their health care and not rely on the government to provide what is necessary. “Our choices often lead to heart disease, diabetes, underage drinking, drugs, violence, and abuse,” she said. “Soaring health and public safety costs are sometimes unfairly passed on to others. But more importantly, by ignoring or accepting selfish choices that cause the abuse, children, families and entire communities are destroyed. Government cannot cure all ills… We have got to make wise, healthy personal choices…”
In that same State of the State Address, Palin discussed the eliminate of something called the Certificate of Need (CON) process, which is a governmental program to oversee health facilities, companies, and costs to provide information to the public. Palin proposed the elimination of CON because of expensive lawsuits the program filed against health care providers, claiming those legal proceedings adversely affected consumers.
That’s right, lawsuits against health insurance companies only raises the price of premiums, and isn’t needed to hold insurers accountable for their actions.
“Alaskans want health care in the hands of doctors, not lobbyists and lawyers,” she stated.
Governor Palin firmly believes in a health care system free of government regulation and so-called interference. She is also a staunch pro-life advocate, opposing abortion in all circumstances, even in the case of rape or incest.
Always remember, Palin is the Republican air apparent to the presidency if they win in November. That means the current, or even worse, a completely unregulated health care system will be in place for the next 8 to 16 years.
