Poll Driven Politics that Works, Republicans Hope to Help Lower Gas Prices in 20 years.

This should be an easy one, but it isn’t for some people. With something so transparent, why aren’t the Republicans getting laughs, instead of traction, on the drilling issue that won’t lower anything for another 20 years, if that?

In fact, AP just reported, "Oil prices fell again Tuesday, dampened by a stronger U.S. dollar and more evidence that developed countries such as the United States are cutting back on their energy use. Oil is now nearly $35 below its July 11 record high of $147.27, and down 31.5 cents from its July 17 record high." That's almost 2 weeks before the Republican side show began.

The press is filled with unquestioning transparency about the flim flam nature of the House debate to demand a vote on drilling. The GOP openly admits their jumping on an issue because it’s popular in the polls, even though it doesn’t make any sense at all.

In the Christian Science Monitor story “GOP sees advantage in offshore oil drilling,” they write, “ Republicans pack the House with tourists to make their case as polls show it could work."

Nearly 90 GOP lawmakers, about 40 percent of the Republican caucus, have come back to Washington since the House voted to adjourn on Aug. 1 to protest Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to allow a vote to lift a moratorium on offshore drilling.

Peter Brown, assistant director at Quinnipiac’s Polling Institute, citing a recent poll said, “A majority used to think it was not worth any potential environmental risks. The opinion seems to have changed that the nation needs to do everything, including drilling. In a year when the playing field is stacked enormously in favor of the Democrats and Obama, this is an issue that seems to help Republicans and they’re trying to make the most of it. Republicans are trying to keep the issue alive because it works for them, and the data suggests that the issue is working.”

Even though it’s obvious to everyone, the media uncritically is covering this story like a real issue, instead of the "media showboating" we all can see it is.

IT’S SHOWBOATING, GRANDSTANDING, MANIPULATION and DISASTER CAPITALISM.

WAKE UP!!!!!
