Vinehout Injures arm in Traffic Accident. Was Walker behind it?

I'm kidding...I think.

Want to know how lazy the press it? This morning not one newscast I heard mentioned Sen. Kalthleen Vinehout's injury, a broken arm. Not one. I found out last night after visiting her Facebook page. It's kind of an important story, right?

I'll soon have video of Sen. Kathleen Vinehout's appearance on WKOW's Capitol City Sunday, which I have to say, made me a believer (I admire real wonk-like qualities, not the truly phony image marketed by Paul Ryan). She's  amazing...but first:
Vinehout raised what is now a broken arm .
WSJ: State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout's husband says she has been released from the hospital following a Sunday car accident that resulted in multiple fractures in her right arm. Douglas Kane said Monday that Vinehout "seems to be doing quite well." Vinehout is a Democrat from Alma in western Wisconsin and is considering running for governor next year.
If Wisconsin voters are receptive to someone who knows budgeting inside and out, and not just the ideological side we've been exposed to for the last 3 years, then Vinehout's got a chance to take Walker out. A primary will be a test to see  if Vinehout's style will win people over.

  1. The story WAS covered in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. At least someone is paying attention.

  2. She has a very quick mind and the ability to explain the budgeting process, issues such as healthcare, education, the environment, labor and farm policy in language that normal people can understand. This is what impressed me during the the recall primary. By comparison, Walker will come off as the talking-point, buzzword spewing, double-talking bullshit machine that he is.

If nothing else a primary will serve to get Mary Burke up to speed. Right now she is running a cautious third-wave: "I am a better manager" campaign. intended to win over independents and disillusioned moderate Republicans. The assumption that grass roots Democrats will come along for the ride because they have nowhere else to go is dangerous, because you may get their votes but not their enthusiastic door-to-door campaign work.

Is anyone out there on-fire for Mary Burke? I'm not meeting them. Sometimes candidates have it all, big-time campaign consultants, good looks and plenty of money, but still don't connect with voters. I hope this isn't one of those times.

  4. Walker behind it? You bet! Kathleen's goal is to establish the network needed to oust Walker and flip a couple of Senate seats. That is why she had been the Road Warrior for the last few weeks.
