Who's "Lazy," the Unemployed or Republicans? Well, check out the 2 year/34 days of "full time work" by our Legislature.

Rep. Leon Young is pushing to save taxpayers big time money by making the state legislature part-time again.  

Young's reason to make his job part-time? They're already working part-time:

“After reviewing the number of days that we were in session during the course of the 2011-12 biennium, I realized that we met a total of only 34 days out of a possible 122 session days. This means that we were in session a mere 28% of the days allotted.  Of those 34 days that we did meet, only seven of those sessions occurred in the floor year 2012, with the last one being March 15th.

I hope you're sitting down: Republican freeloaders are still taking home a mind numbing $50,000 for 27 days in 2011, and $50,000 for 7 days in 2012.

It's time to end the government gravy train. No wonder government hating conservatives never stop running for office, they love those government paychecks.

Note: other states, bigger ones, are doing just fine. According to Young:

In Texas has a population nearly five times larger than Wisconsin, state legislators make $7,200 per year and meet a potential 140 calendar days throughout a biennial session. Similarly, in Virginia, with a population that exceeds Wisconsin’s by over two million, legislators meet a total of ninety calendar days each year and makes $17,640/year. I believe that it is in the best interest of the State of Wisconsin to consider moving in a similar direction ... salaries be reduced to about $12,000/year.”
