Casual Gun Use an Even Bigger Problem, and Unbelievably, NRA's Plan to Arm Schools taken seriously.

As appalling as NRA's VP Wayne LaPierre's suggestion was to arm public schools, it's now an actual solution to our gun problem? Yes.

But just as bad as losing nearly 12,000 people a year to guns violence, think of all the people injured through the "casual use" of guns in everyday life. The following was just one day of near fatal violence. 26 children have been killed with guns since Sandy Hook, more than that one single outrageous event. 

The list: 15 people shot, 3 fatally, on New Year’s Day-A look at fatal shootings on New Year’s Day in Chicago:

Chicago Sun Times: Officers discovered a 20-year-old man lying on the ground and bleeding from a gunshot wound to the throat. (A 29 year old) was shot in the head about 2:45 p.m. … Just before 5 p.m., a 19 year old was shot in the chest during an apparent drive-by attack. 

Here’s the “casual use” tally:

A 29-year-old man was shot in the mouth and shoulder after a fight broke out at a bar.

A 22-year-old man was shot in both legs and the scrotum during a fight at a house party.

A man was shot in the abdomen … was listed in critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm (as) he exited a vehicle and began arguing with a group of people.

A 20-year-old man was shot while he was on the front porch of a home.

A teenage girl and a man were shot in the leg, and the 30-year-old man was shot in the back.

A 28-year-old man was shot in the head and chest.

A 20-year-old woman was shot in the face and back.

A 21-year-old man was driving when two unknown males opened fire, critical condition.

Two teen boys were both shot.

Casual use is never mentioned in the gun control discussion, but as you can see, it should be.
