Hovde wants to fix Wall Street, but not as politician?

This is about as weird as it gets. Senate candidate and millionaire hedge fund 1%'er Eric Hovde appears to be distancing himself from the very office he's seeking, by suggesting Wall Street Greed can't be fixed by politicians:

Hovde: "Politicians can't fix this mess, but you and I kin."

 Huh?

And please, please, please...will someone stop Eric Hovde's trademark Davy Crockett like slang.
