Law Abiding Citizens with Guns lose a few Kids.

Guns don’t kill people? You’ll never be able to tell that to the dead kids killed by their parent’s guns.

Hey, they’re law abiding citizens, what could go wrong? Looks like a loaded gun couldn’t protect against the curious actions of a child.
ABC News: A 3-year-old boy shot and killed himself with a gun he found in a car as a family made a stop early Wednesday at a gas station, police said. It was the third recent shooting of a child in western Washington. The man put his pistol under the seat and got out to pump gas while the boy's mother went inside the station. They left her son and her boyfriend's 4- or 5-year-old daughter in the car. The boy climbed out of his child seat, found the gun and shot himself. He was declared dead at a hospital.

The shooting follows the death of the 7-year-old daughter of a Marysville police officer in Stanwood on Saturday when a sibling found a gun and fired while the parents were out of their car. And on Feb. 22, an 8-year-old girl was critically wounded in a Bremerton classroom when a gun fired from the backpack of a 9-year-old boy as he put it on a desk.

"You can't predict what children are going to do," said Tacoma police Officer Naveed Benjamin.

  1. Storing a loaded gun under the seat of a car is not a safe and secure locked box! I'm sorry, despite the grief and guilt the parents must feel, this is negligent gun ownership and there are-should be-laws that exact responsibility.
The gun killed their son but it could have killed anyone in the vicinity. In essence, the child did not kill himself the parent killed him. A perfect example of that mantra: "guns don't kill people, people do".
