Proof, Walker is a Sociopath? "I try to examine things afterwards." Oh my..

It would seem almost impossible to not be moved by the public outpouring during the Capitol protests. The passion and message from the hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites who attended those rallies in Madison and around the state, would normally have given any other governor and legislature a moment to pause, and reconsider their proposed changes. But that's not something Walker or the Fitzgerald brothers are capable of. They're sociopaths.

In this pointed question from Here and Now's Frederica Freyberg, Walker admits dispassionately that only later does he allows himself a bit of reflection, well after the fact, and well after the pain:

Freyberg: “Was there ever a time, during the tumult and the protests there that were so intense, that you asked yourself whether you in fact you made the right move.”

Walker: “Ah, I mean you try to be retrospect, but I think more…I try to examine things afterwards. Just for improvements and things of that nature. I…you get caught up in things you don’t often think about that…that specific question. But I did go back and think about it afterwards.”
Freyberg then suggested that people still don't seem to be on board. He had no answer as you can see in the video.

As for the jobs, Walker continues to brag about the initial serge of jobs in his first 6 months, 16,000 of them, that were obviously created by his predecessor. As Rep. Peter Barca clearly states, in the last 11 months of the Doyle administration, the state added 12,000 jobs. Walker likes to go back to the job losses experienced during the Great Recession, which were obviously not Gov. Doyles fault. Why the media never clarifies that point I'll never know.

One more thing; Walker is trying to blame the recalls on all the job losses and for business uncertainty. But during the massive demonstrations at the Capitol, the state added 16,000 jobs. Oops, guess that excuse won't work anymore...

ONE MORE, ONE MORE THING: I saw this comment at Cognitive Dissidence that fit in well here, and is so true of the Republican Party in general:

Anonymous said...I am not sure about all the sociopath claims. I see it as he defines success as saving money. Thus, when he makes cuts to schools, they are called "tools" and they are successful reforms, not because the schools are better, they are cheaper. This is another case where we're supposed to think it is good that they have saved money and still made cuts. I should add that since the point of the programs (Badgercare) is to help people, not to save money, it is an odd way of defining success.

  1. "Why the media never clarifies that point I'll never know."

Sure you do, DC. They don't clarify because the mainstream media (MSM is now almost completely made up of those who have no intellectual basis for even forming a question, let alone asking an ad hoc follow-up question.

Ms. Freyburg's show epitomizes the vast emptiness of MSM, both nationally and locally. I'm surprised that Walker wasn't asked questions such as "what's your favorite color?" or "who cut your hair?" by the Wisconsin Public TV nuzemodel.

Oh, and we gotta wonder how much money Koch Industries gives to WPR and WPT.

  2. I actually like Freybergs show and questions. Unlike many shows, and like Mike Gousha, she listens to the response and often has a followup question from that response.

Freyberg does ask "favorite color" type questions.

But you are right that on this one, she missed the big question. That "job loss" statement continues to stand out as one big lie. Now it's featured in his new ad. He's getting mileage when he shouldn't be.
