Republican Royalty Dumb Ron Johnson above the riff raff voters...

Over at Free Wisconsin, we're seeing how Republican Tea Party politicians like dumb Ron Johnson deal with their constituents. Like Paul Ryan, Johnson sends out his "elves" to meet and greet the voters, and to pass messages along as needed. Even when Johnson's around, he's busy, busy, busy...

A group of approximately 30-40 Milwaukee citizens had gathered outside Johnson’s office today to protest his vote against the American Jobs Act, which would cut the payroll tax and invest heavily in infrastructure, as well as extending unemployment benefits and providing significant financial aid to states.

Johnson did not see fit to allow a group of unemployed people to “seek audience” about his vote against the job bill. Perhaps, Johnson feels he has been elevated to the status of POPE?

According to the Daily Kos:

When protesters went inside the building, they were immediately confronted by police officers with billyclubs and loc-tights. Nineteen people were quickly arrested. I'm not sure what the charges are, but they are still in jail.

Getting arrested trying to see your senator? This is the authoritarian leadership Johnson and Ryan talk about. When it comes to their angry constituents? Lock 'em up if they don't like it.  This isn't a small issue, this is creeping fascism.

Janet Veum with Wisconsin Jobs Now says the protesters wanted to schedule a meeting when Johnson returns from Washington, D.C. She says the demonstrators are upset that Johnson voted against the American Jobs Act on Tuesday along with every other Republican senator.

Johnson's office released a statement saying the Milwaukee protesters chose to be disorderly rather than to meet with his staff. He says the Senate voted as it did because economic expansion must come from the private sector, not the government.
