Teabaggers proved their love of ideology trumped love of country.
Feeling no sense of shame, having no grasp of history, or connection to anything other than a twisted and perverted notion of their own delusions the teabaggers pushed the economy over the cliff. America is now reaping what the Tea Party sowed.
Take an example straight from Fond du Lac. A teabagger rally was held on Sunday morning. The Tea Party Express … Fond du Lac event, Florida talk show host Andrea Shea King took the stage. She told the audience that commentators were describing the downgrade of US debt to AA+ from AAA as the “tea party downgrade,” laying the blame squarely on Congress’ right-wing faction and its supporters.
But rather than boo those who claim the tea party caused the downgrade, the 200 or so Wisconsinites in attendance cheered, sounding almost proud to be blamed for the downgrade.

Crowd Cheers Tea Party Downgrade. Tea Party Idiots? Tea Party Trailer Trash? Too Harsh? I'm not alone...
I can't take these low information voters seriously, and neither should the media. So when I found this appropriate description and proof at Caffeinated Politics, I thought it best to pass it along.
Well no one is "alone" these days no matter what the opinion might be.
ReplyDeletePerhaps there was some argument on that earlier post that you put "trailer trash" in the headline, maybe someone thought it was offensive. I know it did but I was (and still am) sick of all the BS that day and didn't bother to comment. I mean what's the use. And if someone else DID say that was offensive, it didn't make a dent in your skull that's pretty obvious, you're still all into it and proud. So, whatevs.
Sometimes I agree with Caff. Pol. and sometimes I think he's really dismissive and haughty. It tends to be over types of people or situations that I suspect he hasn't had a lot of contact with. He can be quite nice, but hedoes stereotype, he just does.
It happens.
But yeah just so you know. Trailer Trash is offensive. Idiots is okay, LOL because there you're getting snippy based on opinion or behavior.
But to malign people for the homes they live in AND CAN AFFORD.... That's really crappy. From what I saw on the Tea party posts in question there was no connection to any mobile homes, I didn't get where that even came from. Just some insulting prejudice you have I suppose.
People who live in "trailers" are already given the message plenty of times that they are losers. But like I said - you're proud of yourself. It doesn't matter what I say. I realize that.
But let's just say, some person who is wondering about the recalls, and is cruising around the Internet, Googling, and they end up on your blog, and let's say they live in a "trailer" which includes really all types of manufactured housing. Common these days. You would definitely turn them off to your cause by your gratuitous insult beased on personal income and lifestyle that has NOTHING to do with Tea party behaviors or ideology.
It's like calling someone a faggot. I feel that's different than "idiot". Unless you're saying Idiot to a kid. Maybe you do. But that would be inexcusable IMO.
Over my life "span" I've personally have lived in 3 separate "trailers". One of then was in the rather unpleasant trailer park on South park in Madison. I'll assume that's maybe still not luxury housing. That's pretty low -income and to call people who have to live there "trash", that sucks. You may as well get racial then too. Why hold back.
FYI now to me you seem like an elitist candy-assed Land's End shopping Khaki-panted Geo-caching Boundary Waters camping snob who probably lives in a McMansion while flapping on and on about "sustainability" and enjoys anonymously aggressing on people above and beyond that which is needed to make "clever" blog points.
Is that offensive? Really? Cuz I'm not alone....so by your logic I can't be wrong.
Though apparently...trashy. Hey I know! Do some posts on the human garbage (like me) that can only afford to shop at Walmart. Mock the livin' crap outta them, posts some photos of funny-dressed ones. They deserve it for not being middle class. The nerve.
I enjoy your thinking and writing style.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't live in a McMansion. Hate em. I was a Realtor and help a few couple move out of their trailer homes.
It's no way to live, but some like it. I didn't create the term, but decided to use it because tea partiers remind me of trashy losers envious of other people wealth, jobs and benefits. They wouldn't mind making us all live like them. They don't understand our value system, only theirs. If they really believed in freedom, they wouldn't be trying to change government so much that it affects what I enjoy about it. That pisses me off.
I thought long and hard on using the term by the way. You're right, it's not nice. But then, they're not nice, and they remind of the people I met in a few trailer parks. Sorry that doesn't fit into you wonderful image. I actually lived in a veterans development pretty much like a trailer park, which was okay, but not the best place to raise a family.
I shop Wal-Mart and Dollar Stores too. BFD. But...is that all there is?
