Ryan avoiding hostile scene like Rep. Fred Upton's recent town hall.

Even though Paul Ryan's public get together charged $15 that basically paid for a catered meal, he's still not holding any public town hall's like he did in the past.
TPM: But Democrats say Ryan's staying away from the classic town hall format this recess -- along with more than one of his Republican colleagues -- because he's afraid of the response he'll get from attendees upset with the way the Republicans have played things in Washington over the past few months, up to and including the debt ceiling fight.

U.S. Rep. Fred Upton ran into a rude reception when he addressed the Kalamazoo County Advocates for Senior Issues Meeting Monday afternoon in Kalamazoo. A group of people came together and interrupted Upton, yelled questions at him and chanted about jobs … “one woman telling a photographer her name is "I am jobs."

  1. They got to this old right-wing fart. Upton's schoolmarm demeaner starts to come through when he tells the audience that "...this is a private forum open to the public...". Huh?

You see, Rep. Fred Upton (R-SPF 5000)has grown used to being treated with respect, particularly by the lobbyists for polluters, union-busters, Wall Street, defense contractors and other corporate groups he takes his marching orders from.

Funny how irritated Upton gets over a few chants.

His skin is so thin you can see where his heart should be.
