Conservative Talk Host McKenna Hides from her own Words, Pulls Podcasts. Can't take the heat?

This is a perfect example of giving someone too much rope.

I'm talking about my former talk partner, Vicki McKenna.

Having been in the radio business for 25 years, and a talker for about 14, I know the value of a good program director. Despite their meddling, they provide that independent ear that helps moderate those of us who are blessed with stretching the boundaries of truth and good taste.

Thanks to Sly in the Morning and one of his listeners for the heads up, it appears her on air recklessness and lying has caused her employer, Clear Channel, a few behind the scenes headaches. So much so, they've yanked from their web page her troubling podcasts, to prevent guys like Sly and me from point out her glaring errors.

If you want to hear the whole segment, check it out here, but this edited version makes the point I've been making for years about conservative talk radio. It's chock full of fabrications and thoughtless lies. By the way, that's me on the right.

  1. I can't believe anyone can listen to her voice for more than a minute or two. Thanks for the edited version. She's really irritating, and I'm not even talking about content.

  2. I filed a complaint against WIBA with the FCC, oh, two months ago for her playback of a teacher's misdialed voicemail which resulted in said teacher receiving threats (a clear violation of 47 C.F.R. §73.1206).

I'm a big proponent of free speech...but these are the public airwaves and that fact deserves some respect. It's a shame the industry seems to have forgotten that fact.
