Doh! Voting Rights are Back for the Senate Democrats!

Maybe somebody explained to the immensely unfit for leadership Sen. Scott Fitzgerald that he can’t illegally prevent an elected representative of the people from voting.
jsonline: The top GOP leader in the state Senate backtracked Tuesday, saying he wouldn’t seek to prevent Democrats from voting on bills in committee.
On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) said that Democrats couldn’t vote on bills in committee immediately even though they’ve returned from Illinois. That’s because GOP lawmakers voted to hold Democrats in contempt of the … Senate President Mike Ellis (R-Neenah)  said they would not enforce that contempt finding.
And for those lulled into the idea that the Democrats have finally figure out how to fight, a few are as dumb as boards:
Sen. Tim Cullen (D-Janesville) said Tuesday he would introduce a constitutional amendment that would allow the Senate to proceed with a simple majority in all cases. Currently, 20 senators are needed to vote on certain fiscal matters, and Republicans hold just 19 seats.
Think about that. Let's say 10 out of the 33 Senators show up to vote on a very controversial issue. All that would be needed is six senate votes to pass it. How about a late night vote when everyones gone home? That's not representative government. A quorum is required because it would guarantee the largest number of senators present to represent the voting public.

Sure, leave it to a Democrat to do away with what is essentially a last resort filibuster. Can we recall this guy too? As one commenter observed after reading the Journal Sentinel story:
You forgot to mention that they are most likely rescinding said restrictions because they are illegal. I hope Scott Fitzgerald keeps speaking...he's fueling the recall fervor.
