Anticipating Possible Stimulus Success, Republicans Claiming "Economy Would Have Improved Anyway" Talking Point

Are the Republicans worried about the stimulus succeeding?

The answer can be gleaned from their ballsy preemptive announcements, crazy at they might sound, that the global economic crash in just part of the normal business cycle. And just by coincidence, the recovery cycle coincides with the roll out of the Obama stimulus plan. At best; we'll never really know whether the spending plan succeeded or not. At the worst; we will be guilty of forcing future generations to pay back the borrowed money with interest.

The preemptors, Karl Rove and Rep. Peter King, deliver their talking point message with gusto.

It's tough to be on the wrong side of a historical recovery. It'll make you say anything.
