Risking Economy and Family Security for Workers, Republicans Take Final Shot at Wiping out Unions. Disaster Capitalism a Winner Again.

I have had enough!

You know what’s wrong with the American auto manufacturers? Worker wages and benefits. That’s right, those greedy middle class families riding around in their cars, watching their plasma tv’s, taking calls on expensive cell phones and frivolously spending money on high speed internet access. They’re living like kings.

AP:
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said the measure (bridge loan) "isn't nearly tough enough." The Kentucky Republican called for a different bill - one that would force U.S. automakers to slash wages and benefits to bring them in line with Japanese carmakers Nissan, Toyota and Honda - in return for any federal aid.

That’s the American way, huh? Republicans don’t want to be like Europe, but instead, embrace the Asian model of labor compensation. But wait, their countries provide health care for all. Well, we can’t go that far can we? Since when should blue collar Middle American workers have decent wages and benefits like our public servants in Washington?

I don’t know about you, but I have had it. Can we pull their benefits and salaries in a cost cutting move to bailout the economy? For instance, they’re not paying into the publics Social Security system while enjoying a government provided health care plan, two safety nets they don’t want the very people they serve to have. What the hell is wrong with this picture?

But many Republicans remained staunchly opposed to it (the bridge loan) ... They're also bitterly opposed to tougher environmental rules carmakers would have to meet as part of the House-passed version of the rescue package…

Republicans are opposed to the very environmental rules that are needed to make the American auto industry competitive with Honda, Toyota and Nissan in clean high mileage technology. Brilliant.

Haven’t the Republicans done enough to our economy already?

I have had enough!

Watch the hypocrites undercut the unions, hand out special tax favors to foreign companies and ignore public sentiment reflected in polls. They still think they know what’s best.
