Can you say; missed opportunity? Our Democratic dumb asses are letting another missed opportunity go by, again and again and again … God they’re media dopey. Let me spell it out for our clueless elected liberals who may have read the story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Missed Opportunity 1: John McCain is telling voters that his colleagues should cut their congressional recess short and get to work on solving the nation's energy crisis.
Answer: You could call them liars, the last minute men, disaster capitalists, opportunists, ignorant or Johnny come lately’s. Republicans had 12 years of Congressional control and did nothing but tell us how cheap gas was and to buy SUV’s.
Missed Opportunity 2: Even former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has joined the GOP chorus, delivering an online petition asking lawmakers to “drill here, drill now, pay less."
Answer: (Keep it simple here) Economists say oil prices aren’t affected just by what happens in Washington but what happens across the globe. Any impact on domestic crude oil production or prices likely would not occur before 2030, according to a report by the Energy Information Administration. Production won’t start until 2017. The world market sets prices, not locally, so how smart is a plan that MIGHT save 2 cents in 20 years?
Missed Opportunity 3: House Minority Leader John Boehner has dubbed this the “drill-nothing Congress.”
Answer: And over the last 30 years of no drilling, the Congress was called…?

Missed Opportunity 4: Republican Rep. Tom Petri, Paul Ryan and Jim Sensenbrenner all say they gladly would have stayed in session to work out an energy plan.
Answer: You haven’t had a plan until the country hit crisis mode. Kinda late to the game, don’t you think? Republicans do not plan ahead, ever. Economists say the United States does not have enough oil to make a big difference on fuel prices.
The state Senators and Assembly Democrats are no where to be found. They very rarely take a stand on energy problems, they haven't created an issue with any one of the green alternatives, or have boldly sent out press releases defining the dramatic differences in problem solving. The same is true for our Washington lawmakers.
These missed opportunities have undercut a hungry and active Democratic electorate.
