I have always believed that religion is a personal issue that should not be forced on the public via our elected representatives. They can vote for or against a bill based on their religious beliefs, but don't create legislation based on their personal interpretation of the bible. It's that simple.
Still, I get a little uncomfortable watching a politician share his religion publically in a way that reflects a certain ignorance of reality. Check this clip out from Larry King Live, when Bill Maher discussed his film "Religulous." The stare and pause in the first film clip is scary.
