Legally Purchased Guns Kill Too

According to the state Office of Justice Assistance's annual Crime and Arrests report for 2007, “the murder rate in Wisconsin rose 11 percent last year, boosted by three multiple murders that killed 14.”-The Capital Times.

In each of the following tragedies, not once was it mentioned that an illegally purchase gun was used. We can only conclude then, that in each instance, a legally purchase gun was used by a law abiding citizen. This is the central argument by the NRA and concealed carry proponents: restrictive gun laws are unfair to law abiding citizens who have a Second Amendment right to own or carry a firearm. To bad you can’t tell that to the victims of these three multiple murder scenes.

The Capital Times described the carnage this way:

The Crandon incident happened on Oct. 7, when 20-year-old Forest County Deputy Tyler Peterson fatally gunned down his former girlfriend, 18-year-old
Jordanne Murray, and five others at the young woman's Crandon apartment. Also
killed in the rampage were Aaron Smith, 20; Bradley Schultz, 20; Lindsey Stahl, 14; Lianna Thomas, 18; and Katrina McCorkle, 18. One man, 21-year-old Charlie Neitzel, was wounded but survived the slaughter. Peterson later killed himself.

The Delavan murders happened in June when Ambrosio Analco, 23, burst into the Delavan apartment of Nicole McAfee, 19, his estranged girlfriend, and fatally shot her; their twin infant sons, Isiah and Argenis; McAfee's sister, Ashley Huerta, 21; and Huerta's friend, Vanessa Iverson, 19. He also shot his 1-year-old daughter, who survived.

And another homicide claimed three victims. In January, Danyetta Lentz and her 17-year-old daughter, Nicole, and her 14-year-old son, Scott, were found murdered in their Janesville mobile home. James Koepp, 49, has been charged in the killings.

Hand gun bans should once again be introduced nationwide. Like other Democrats, I compromised my values over time, allowing home owners the ability to protect their “castles.” But that quickly led to conceal carry permits, make my day and take your gun to work laws and a federal law protecting firearm manufacturers and gun shops from lawsuits.

We’ve all been played for suckers. It’s a lesson learned and won’t happen again.

BAN hand guns NOW.

UPDATE: June 27, 2008-Too late, the activist Conservative Supreme Court just passed the death sentence for tens of thousands of innocent victims.
