Companies are pushing curriculum called "Common Core" but most of it is less rigorous than what I used already. What are the connections with the new laws for special education placement and writers of common core? This was one, big cluster planned to privatize public ed. Where was my union while this was going down?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183447461205976739.post-75469211659265028832014-02-04T16:13:26.596-06:002014-02-04T16:13:26.596-06:00The goal of Common Core seems like a good idea. There have been numerous examples given of just plain dumb lessons or questions associated with Common Core. People complain when standardized tests are used to evaluate schools and say that the schools are forced to teach to the test, but how is Common Core any different than that? Is Common Core simply a list of objectives that students should be able to master or is it a rigid line of instruction that schools/teachers will not be able to deviate from? Do you have any suggested reading that is not biased on way or the other on how Common Core is designed to work?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
