John Nichols on Voter ID, and State GOP's Ben Sparks Clueless about Judge Flanagan, Voter ID and the history of his own party.

Here’s the situation:
Caledonia Patch; Dane County Circuit Judge David Flanagan is up for re-election April 3, unopposed, and signed a petition to recall Gov. Scott Walker on Nov. 15, the first day signatures could be collected.
The bottom feeders in the state Republican Party were quick to try and muddy the waters:
"The very fact that Dane County Judge David Flanagan signed a petition to recall Governor Walker calls today's court proceedings regarding Wisconsin's voter ID law into question," said party spokesman Ben Sparks in a statement. Sparks said: "This is simply another example of a liberal Dane County judge legislating from the bench to block the will of an overwhelming majority of Wisconsinites.
Too bad Sparks is just as incompetent as his predecessor Reince Priebus; Flanagan was appointed in 1999 by Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson. The courts have also been used to determine if laws are constitutional or not. This isn't some judicial aberration. Hey, maybe Flanagan used his years of legal experience to come up with a decision, unlike the four activist state Supreme Court Justices who not only make law up as they go along, but don't hide their allegiance to the Republican legislature.

This is audio from Sly in the Morning with John Nichols about Judge Flanagan and the future of voter ID.

Here's a little of the coverage from WLUK:
